Dr. Antonio V Yu, MD

I would recommend this Dr to any of my friends. He's not only thorough, he's kind and spends a lot of time with each patient.

He is an excellent doctor. Have been to him for over 5 years, since I .oved to AZ. Will not go to any other Doctor

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Although the office staff are friendly, the doctor is completely lacking in patient care when it comes to empathy, care, concern, and listening to his patients. He read my medical history and rather than asking questions to get to know me (at my first visit) he questioned everything in my medical history, as if I weren't being truthful or accurate. I will not get into the details of my visit, but will say this - find a different doctor! One who takes time to actually listen, and who cares. You are not paying a doctor to be mistreated, talked down to, or suggest you may have an incurable disease based on nothing, because he doesn't know you at all. This doctor dismissed the problem I have with a thyroid disease, telling me that it only attacks the thyroid, when it is an autoimmune disease that can affect your health and everything in your body. That is just one example. He was so rude, cutting me off throughout the visit, to the point I began… to tear up (which was stupid of me, I should have walked out!) and then he said "Do you need to see a Psychiatrist??" I said "What? Why? My life is stress-free..." and he cut me off again. "Look at you. You're anxious and upsert." Well doctor, you caused that! I will NEVER allow a doctor, or anyone, to treat me the way he did. We pay for doctors to care for us, it is their JOB. He is not doing his. I was okay with him being matter of fact, until I realized that when it comes to emotions such as empathy, concern, compassion, he is flat-lined. I would give him a NO STAR review if I could.

Dr. Yu seems to be a very competent & caring physician. Cannot say the same for his office staff. No greeting on arrival, no smile and totally lacking any sense of urgency in sending any necessary papers to other physicians.

I've been seen by Doctor Yu for the last 12 years. He is very competent and well read concerning latest medical journal renderings. He is polite and does not rush through my visits.

He is an excellent Dr. Had a hard time finding a Dr. here that knew what he was doing. He is excellent. Takes his time with you and explains labs etc... does not force medication just because you are elderly. Every time I have gone to him he has helped me.

This office is very disorginized. The office manager is always talking about other patients in front of everyone. The doctor is always behind atleast an hour. I did not have a good experience at this office and don't recommend it to anyone.

Highly professional and up to date on all drugs he prescribes. Wonderful staff and great follow up.

Today, my mother saw Dr. Yu for the first time as a new patient. She was looking for a new doctor due to what I'm going to call "really bad care." Dr. Yu listened intently to why she was there, did a full examination and showed compassion as we told him of my mother's events as she is really quite ill. While there, he took time to look at records that we brought, to state his opinion and to refer her to the appropriate doctor before taking on her care completely. While all this is expected of a doctor, he did not know that my mom actually sabotages her own care by telling the physician what she wants him to know. I interjected a few times just for clarification and would bring up serious issues that pertained to her care and again this doctor was patient and listened and addressed my concerns as well. While cautious about accepting my mom as a patient, and that was clear, he did so and I appreciate this greatly. Her illness is complicated as is she, because she feels she knows… it all when it comes to her own body., However she was very satisfied with Dr. Yu. agreeing with me to comply with his care. This is an accomplishment! She liked him as well. As an RN of twenty five years in MO, I have worked with a lot of physician both in and out of hospital settings, I would have to say that Dr. Yu's rating was more than a five. In my book, he rates a ten. Again, that you Dr. Yu!

Some office staff less than professional, but this has recently improved. Waiting time is pretty normal, if not better than normal.
