Dr. Anupama Sharma, MD

This is for the Barstow Ca. office location. I really do feel betrayed by the staff that I relied upon. The old doctor got me a machine to thump on my chest to break up the residue from my COPD. That doctor retired and for 3 months, the company who made the machine tried to get basic paperwork from Dr. Sharma's office. I tied, they tried and I even got the office and company talking directly. The best I could get out of the office lady was, "I thought I sent that". I stayed because I liked the PA there. Part 2: Medicine for Diabetics got really expensive, so I switch from a supplemental medicare to an Advantage Plan directly for diabetics. Dr. Sharma's office was not covered or any of their groups. Ok, I will pay for the doctor visits. Labs were covered and sent to the PA, Medication scrips were still filled by the PA, and paying $85 five or six times a year for visits still saved a lot for this retired teacher. Here is the real betrayal. The Advantage Plan sent a real simple… document. Have your medical provider confirm that you are a diabetic. I got a call from this same lady who messed up with the previous paperwork telling me they can's sigh it. Why? Because I was a cash customer. I just had an office visit and paid my $85, so why. We wont do it because you are a cash customer, so no, with a period tone in her voice. I could have understood that I needed another office visit or a sum of money because I was a cash costumer, but it was just a flat no. Now I am looking at a bill i received today for my last office visit, and the receipt for that visit that I paid for several weeks earlier. Basic Dr. Sharma's office in Barstow, got it wrong again.

PURE GREED!!! This, so called Dr. is a profoundly materialistic predator, ripping her patients off with unnecessary visits. On the surface she seems to be very nice, kind and pleasant. However, deeper down she is a money hungry greedy monster. Started out very well, but then I very soon found that she uses me as her cash machine, wants me to come in for anything and everything to squeeze money out of my insurance. She doesn't care about her patients at all. Absolutely no compassion. She cares more about the paycheck than patients. She refuses to do anything unless I come in, again and again, for the same problem. F**k you so called doctor....sharma!!!!

Dr Sharma has been my primary care doctor over the past few years. I am very pleased with her. However, the fallow up/fallow through leaves a great deal of room for improvement. Difficult to get a timely appointment. Referrals are slow to get processed. I never receive notification of lab/test result.

I have not actually seen Dr. Sharma yet. In fact it is apparently impossible to make an important with the doctor. I have seen her PA once and she was very nice. The office staff when I went in was very nice but...Veronica is very rude if you get her on the phone. She absolutely refuses to make an appointment with the doctor. I was told that Dr. Sharma does not see patients in the afternoons. So, I basically signed up for a new primary care physician whom I will never meet. I will likely have to change primary care physicians again.

I would not suggest this doctor. Though she is very nice and takes time with you, they are horrible at returning calls, even after telling you to leave messages. If you are sick, it will take about a month sometimes more to get an appointment. Thus, you will spend more time going to Urgent Care and paying more. When you are sick you most likely need to see your doctor within a few days. This place will not squeeze you in if you are obviously sick or in pain. We also noticed a bit of gossiping in the front office on a few occasions. We tried to hang in there because Dr. Sharma is a nice lady but finally thew in the towel a few months ago. I Do Not recommend this office

Dr. Sharma listens carefully to what you say. She explained things to me where I could understand her. She was very knowledgeable when we went over my med history. I'm glad she does not just dole out medications without having me come in to see her periodically. This means she will monitor and follow my progress. I recommend her highly!

She takes her time and listens to you. She isn't afraid to refer you elsewhere if she knows something is out of her league. Pharmaceuticals is not always her first choice with treatment. She, in my and my husband's opinion, is one of the best Internal Medicine doctors in the High Desert.
