Dr. April Lauren Lowenthal, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Lowenthal for over a year. She is great! She took the time to get to know me, scheduled some tests to see where I was at currently with some of my conditions. Very communicative with myself, husband and her partner Dr. Weiner (whom I had to see a few times as Dr. Lowenthal was not available for some of the days I needed to be seen). Very concerned about possible future diagnosis, which thankful were cleared from suspicion. I hope she will still be practicing when my daughter grows out of pediatrics. (I'd switch my daughter now, but she's just gotten comfortable with her pediatrician.)

This person, filling in for my regular doctor, was 1) Careless (Delaying obtaining/relaying results of two tests associated with a lump suspected of possible cancer) 2) Incompetent (Responding to my request for a prescription renewal by calling in the wrong drug at the wrong pharmacy, then not fixing the error after repeated phone calls) 3) Condescending ("Intervening" as if I were a drug addict when I attempted to renew a 15-year, standing prescription for a low-dose, infrequently-used PRN drug for a well-documented panic disorder) 4) Indifferent (Apparently not having bothered to read my file or learn about the medical history of the patient she was treating) 5) Rude (Refusing to apologize for her own inaction and errors, sullenly insisting she had returned my call, even after I showed her my phone records--with no evidence of a call from her--and finally storming out of the office when I expressed displeasure with her manner) Have never been treated this way by a health… professional before. A bizarre and humiliating experience. Definitely would not recommend.
