April was born and raised in the Greater Cleveland area. She is an alumna of Regina High School and was involved in student council, orchestra, drama, and track. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Cleveland State University. During her undergraduate years she was active in the leadership of Student Government, and her Sorority, Theta Phi Alpha. She Also Volunteered at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
In 1989 April received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Case Western Reserve University. In addition to being a member of the local, state, and national Dental Associations, she is also a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, Women in Dentistry and belongs to the Chagrin Valley Dental Study Club. Dr. Yanda has volunteered her time with the Give A Kid A Smile program, helping at the Boys and Girls Clubs and providing needed treatment for children at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Yanda has been named one of the "Top …Dentists in America" several years in a row. This is an award voted on by members of her peers. She has a strong commitment to quality dentistry and supports that effort by attending numerous post-graduate courses, keeping abreast of state of the art techniques and procedures. She especially enjoys creating esthetically beautiful smiles for her patients.
April has been practicing dentistry with Dr. Keith Hoover since 1995, and has been a Hudson resident since 1997. April's husband, Tim, is the Vice President of network operations for Cox Communications Inc. They have one daughter, Chelsea, who is a Hudson High School graduate and now attends Miami University, studying Microbiology. April is active in many community organizations and the Yandas are charter members at Rejoice! Lutheran Church. April realizes the importance of educating children at a young age, and because of this, she donates her time making presentations at Hudson area preschools. April and her family enjoy sailing Lake Erie and other ports of call. You may see them around town at a football game or walking their Bichon, Bristol.
