Upon receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Dr. Kim received the Norman B. Nesbett Award and the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Award for her achievements in clinical excellence, leadership, and academics. She then completed her advanced graduate training at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), receiving a Master of Science in Oral Biology, …and a Certificate in Prosthodontics. With her Master's research project in implant dentistry, she was honored with Sharry Award, the top national research award for prosthodontics residents. After her specialty training, Dr. Kim worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UIC; taught fixed and removable prosthodontics to predoctoral students; and also treated patients in private practice. She returned to Boston in 2015 and joined Harvard School of Dental Medicine as a full-time faculty, teaching medical and dental students from medical interviewing to prosthodontics treatment. Dr. Kim joined Department of Dentistry at Boston Children's Hospital in 2017 as an associate in Prosthodontics program. Her research interests include prosthodontics treatment craniofacial anomalies, quality improvement in dental practices, and dental education.
Dr. Kim has won many honors, including awards from the American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, American Dental Education Association, as well as the Outstanding Achievement in Teaching Award from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Excellence in Mentoring Award from Harvard Medical School. She is a Past President of the American College of Prosthodontists Massachusetts Section and lectures nationally on prosthodontics and dental education.
