Dr. Ari J Wilkenfeld, MD, PhD

Dr. Wilkenfeld, in a teleconference with my sister, diagnosed her autoimmune disorder, while she was mistakenly being treated for meningitis. We are grateful for his diagnosis, but also for his remaining in touch and being available when we have questions about her progress.

Dr. Ari was patient and thorough in assessing the medical condition. He did not rush and responded to all questions. I am pleased with the visit.

I met with Dr Wilkenfeld today regarding involuntary finger movement. I am an artist, so I was very concerned about long term damage to my arm and hand nerves. He listened to my descriptions of the problem, watch videos I presented showed the movement, took detailed notes on my experiences, and asked a lot of follow up questions. He did an exam to check over basic neurological responses and reviewed my previous history with other neurological concerns. He very clearly explained to me what is happening and gave me detailed information about my options for treatment. I was in the office for quite some time and felt like I had the doctor's full attention for the whole visit. He was direct, helpful, and kind. I greatly appreciate the relief I now feel knowing more about why my fingers are moving on their own.

Wilkenfeld is a thorough doctor, but also one of the most rude I’ve ever seen. I went to see him for chronic lightheadedness, and while describing my symptoms he kept giving me the stink eye, as if I was making them up. He insisted that I didn’t have “a single symptom of migraines” when in fact I have nearly all of them. He is a poor listener, and I constantly corrected him when he relayed back my symptoms. At the end of the appointment, he prescribed me a migraine pill. When I explained that I cannot swallow pills (something I’ve always struggled with), he gave me a blank stare and said, as rudely as possible, “then why are you in my office?” I explained that I would prefer a liquid or a nasal spray if possible and he said, “modern medicine is pills, if you can’t take them, I can’t help you.” I left the office feeling like I got a decent exam from a rude and inconsiderate doctor. I transferred and won’t be going back.

Saw Dr W today - although he was running late he took the time to listen to my symptoms & do an evaluation exam. He made recommendations to another physician for the proper treatment & was able to get me an appointment within 2 weeks( even though the staff said there’s a long wait to see the other doctor). I never felt rushed or felt he wasn’t listening. He reviewed my chart with me. I was pleased with my appointment.

THIS NEUROLOGIST IS RUDE AND HAS A POOR BEDSIDE MANNER..I COULD NOT GET PAST THAT TO EVEN HELP MY DAUGHTER GET A PROPER DIAGNOSIS..BEFORE HE KICKED ME OUT OF HIS OFFICE.. I WOULD NOT SEND MY WORST ENEMY TO THIS DOCTOR AND I USE THAT WORD LOOSELY.. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF FOR TALKING TO A YOUNG LADY THAT WAY..

I went to see this doctor for migraines and he was so rude to me. He basically called me a drug addict and refused to look at my phone with all my documented migraines. Wilkenfeld needs to go back to medical school and learn some bedside manners!! I left his office crying. Never see this man!! He’s a fat and extremely rude man!

Perhaps the worst examination I have received from a physician in all of my 55 years. He seemed more intent on labeling my problem than diagnosing it, on writing me a prescription than my wellness. I described the problem, yet he showed no desire to get to the source of it only to type on his keyboard. I have never left a doctor's office more disgusted.

Seems to know a great deal. However he resists engagement preferring tests. Most irritating is a seeming resistance to considering a challenge and putting in the time to find an original solution. Also difficult to take seriously his admonitions about dangers when he is so obviously morbidly obese.
