Dr. Smith saved my brother’s life. He performed emergency brain surgery on my brother after he was hit by a car. Although he was in critical condition at first , thanks to God and Dr. Smith’s hands he is dong much better now. Dr. Smith was there every step of the way. I highly recommend

Dr. Smith botched his operation on me and caused me to have brain hemorrhage. Thankfully another neurosurgeon was able to clean up Smith’s mess and save my life. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

My visit with Dr. Smith is ingrained into my brain, even though it was a few years ago. I was fairly young just out of my teenage years and it was my birthday. Dr Smith walked in and was very awkward, he said hello with a head nod and went straight to the computer where my scan was. He briefly asked about my symptoms and was looking at the scan for awhile, no fault, good to be detailed. He turned around and told my mother and I, that I had "x" and wanted another test to see how much damage it has caused. He recommended an implanted device called a spinal cord stimulator or intrathecal pain pump. I was DEVASTATED. I left crying. I cancelled my birthday plans with friends. My parents took me out to eat where I was a crying blubbering mess at dinner. Cried and cried, that test took awhile to get. In the meantime we scheduled appointments with specialist after specialist. Had a renowned specialist in Alabama review my case. There was absolutely no signs of said diagnosis. Zero.… Unbelieveable we asked the other doctor what could have happened, he said that Dr. Smith may not have understood the anatomy of the prior surgery I underwent as it was complex. But that doctor even said he should not have given a person under 22 y/o such a devastating incurable diagnosis based on that alone and 1 single appointment. It was already a really difficult time of my life and that experience pushed it into such a dark a dark time. During those many days of waiting there were nights of crying with stacks of tissues. It was horrible. I would never trust anyone I know with him considering he could not understand my scan and jumped so quickly to a major diagnosis and another surgery. I would also like to point out the excessive 5 star ratings along with the ones that have words, the are formatted grossly similar. I would like to hope he did not write them but i wouldn't put it past him.

After months of suffering with sciatica pain I was referred to Dr. Arien Smith. I called to make an appt and was able to be seen the following week. Dr. Smith looked at my MRI, examined me and told me what surgery to have within a few weeks they had the approval from my ins company and he preformed surgery which was a success! All my major pain was gone ( except from the incision pain) I was walking on my own 3 days later. His staff is also amazing putting up with my many phone calls!!!! If anyone needs surgery hes deff the doctor to go to, not many doctors have the bedside manor her does and something about him gives you that calm feeling that of course you want when it comes to a scary surgery !!! Thank you so much Dr. Smith and staff!!!

Not only is Dr Smith a great surgeon, he's also very attentive to your issue and pain. Takes the time to explain what he will do to make you better. His staff is just as amazing and caring as he is!

I visited Dr. Smith for my severe neck pain, Dr. Smith performed neck surgery after a couple of months under his care. After surgery i felt so much better and I'm able to move my neck. Dr. Smith staff is extremely professional and reliable, i would highly recommend.
