They falsify there urine tests to get rid of patients they are rude, disrespectful, and don't care about there patients at all what so ever they are an insult to the medical profession and a joke.

I was treated by Steve Edelman after my first appointment with Dr. Farr. I have sever chronic pain due to a spinal cord compression. I was given the medication necessary to manage my pain. The only complaints I had was one night I went to a late dinner and had 2 half glasses of wine with my dinner. I don't usually drink at all. The next day I had to do a routine UA test. I was informed that my UA came back FULL of alcohol!! I asked my brother if that was possible. He said no. Another time I had a bad headache and I asked my daughters roommate for an aspirin. Not thinking about it I went home I took it before bed. I thought it was a tylenol pm. The next day same thing. I was accused of taking "something". My mind was blank. I never abused or misused my medication or taken anything else. The lady kept drilling me. I kept denying. At checkout it occured to me. I called my daughters friend and asked her what she gave me. Xanax!!!! I told her I thought it was a tylenol pm and what happened.… So, it made me look like a liar. I was pretty upset, but they knew I needed my pain meds so it was ok. Nothing else negative to say. I was happy with my pain management. Then I moved to Washington. HUGE medical mistake!!! The first thing they did was started immediately cutting off my medicine. I just broke my L5 compression disc in my back. I had just fired my other Dr. for not giving adequate treatment. This new one cut me all the way down to where I will have NO relief. Even with the broken bone on top of my regular pain. DON'T COMPLAIN. If you are getting the meds you need, be thankful. I'm being treated like a liar and a street junkie up here!!!

Very rude .. and accuse me falsely.. don't like his attitude and way of talking ..

I was interested to see that someone else had an experience similar to mine - I quit this practice in 2011 after being accused of having alcohol in my urine drug test. This was absurd as I barely drank (an ounce of wine at bedtime at most) and the test was done in the afternoon! For the UDT to be positive for alcohol at that time, I would have to have drunk enough the night before to be noticeably drunk, which I never do because it makes me feel ill to do so. I was insulted and deeply disturbed that the PA or NP (I forget his name - not Steve Edelman) would believe the test every my word (I'd been at this practice for over 2 years) despite knowing me, knowing my history and the absurdity of the idea of me drinking alcohol in the daytime before my appointment - when my ability to function and work requires adequate pain control - when my very profession would be at risk if anyone suggested I drank alcohol during the daytime. I could not tolerate this type of treatment. The stress… produced by treating me like a criminal on probation would only exacerbate my health problems. I need to be able to trust my health care providers! There is a legitimate use for urine drug testing in medical practice. However, the test results must be considered in appropriate context, and with full understanding of their limitations. Too many practitioners do not understand that the tests are fallible and destroy people's lives because of ignorance of statistical notions such as false positives and positive predictive value. There are many people on the internet complaining of this same issue: accused of drinking alcohol due to a false positive UDT. It is not clear what is causing this. I am assuming these tests are not ethyl glucuronide (EtG) tests, which have been shown to be highly likely to result in false positives due to use of any product containing alcohols, including hand sanitizers. One possibility is a urinary tract infection, in which the bacteria cause fermentation which produces alcohol in the urine. I suspected that was the cause of my false test, and treated myself for a UTI. I am fortunate in having had options, allowing me to switch to a physician who cares more about treating pain and caring for patients. He knows how to protect himself from persecution by over-zealous law enforcement without punishing his patients. I wish all pain patients good luck. Stick up for yourselves. You have a medical condition - pain is not a crime and pain medicine is medicine, not an evil vice!

Every appointment I have I try to explain what has been going on for the past month and it seems as they don't listen or care.

I saw them three times! my second appt was with Dr Farr himself had a great appt with him very thourough. He gave me a strike (they apparently have a three strike policy but fire you on the first strike) because I had run out of my breakthrough a week early. I came to them on 10 a day of Oxy IR 30's which do wonders for my severe arthritis (also on Oxy 80 for long acting been on this combo for over 5 yrs no problems) this office put me on 5 day on one fell swoop no tapering down. He made me sign a form that I would not run out again. When I showed up for my third appt about 26 days later the NP Steven Edelmen told me I tested positive for alchol over three times the legal limit at my appt with dr F the month before! at first I laughed! Ido not drink at all maybe a beer a year if that!!!! and don't you think if I was THAT DRUNK the dr would have noticed?? the np told me not to insult dr farrs intellect when I asked that.. not only was I not drunk or under the influence of anything that… day or any other day for that matter, I am not stupid enough to show up at a pain clinic NEEDING my pain meds to function, survive, move, get out of bed etc drunk!!!! they refused to listen to me gave me my final scripts and fired me!!! I sent three letters to dr farr begging him to speak to me one on one so we could get the the bottom of this.. but he is a coward he refused.. I spoke to the lab they told me the dr office had to call on my behalf it is clear my sample was mixed up with someone else in fact that day there were several out of it looking patients.. that place is bad!!!

I was a great patient thought this would be an easy process. I was discharged for overtaking, but the issue is that I never did overtake I had permission and discussed my doses with another Dr in his office. Unfortunately that was not documented by the other Dr therefore it did not happen. It hurts me to be treated like a junkie when I follow their rules. If you go I would ask to see the notes of the DR everytime you visit to ensure things are being documented properly. I would reccommend shopping around, at the end of the day we are all humans and those who legitimately use pain medication should not be treated in such a manner. I wrote a letter begging them to speak with the other Doctor that I had the discussion with and they refused. Dr. Farr Plays god with people who have legitmate pain

I would recommend this doc to anyone seeking treatment for pain. However, if your looking for unneeded pain meds,.....this is NOT a doc you want to see. Very good experience.

I have not had a problem with Dr. Farr per se, but his FNP Edelman was a joke. I had spoken with him about a prescription for a surgical procedure and he indicated that would not be a problem. However, he lied to me about trying to return a phone call and then wrote me a prescription which he knew my insurance would not cover, then he tried to get the insurance co. to change their formulary to include this prescription for me. In the meantime, I had already had the surgical procedure and was suffering along and finally filled the prescription that the Dr who did my surgery had written. Then 5 days after the procedure, I get a call from the ins. co. informing me that they wouled not cover this medication. I am glad that I did not wait on Farr's office to relieve my pain. Or I would still be waiting!!! Edelman also has argued with both my son and my daughter about my medications and not listened to either one, when they told him exactly what my history was. They are both in their 20's… and very knowlegeable about medicine. He has been a jerk all the way aroound

I was prescribed Morphine and Oxycodone and had adverse affects from the meds. I explained this to Dr. Farr and his PA and each time they wrote out renewals for the same medications, I had an appointment last week and it was cancelled by Dr. Farr's office because I had not had the last filled. I wanted to discuss these meds with Dr. Farr.I had to reschedule my appointment to get this done. I find it very unprofessional to cancel an appointment when I had complained about the side affects from the meds with Dr. Farr and with his PA. I have no idea what to expect from my next appointment. Dr. Farr will most likely remove me from his care.
