Dr. Arthur Curtis Jones III, MD

After seeing him a few times and a very painful experience of the doctor agressively probing his ears my child is terrified of doctors. We aren't going back. He had an ear infection within a few days after each exam. No infections for the five years before. Then could not get appointments for treatment.

Thanks to all who wrote their honest reviews regarding Dr Jones. I had an appointment scheduled with him but will now cancel it due to perceived lack of personality, no follow-thru, and basically narcissistic, self-centered Dr. whom I do not want handling my sinus surgery. Thanks again!

i like him alot

He performed a Mastoidectomy on my husband and it left him with severe tinnitus. He recently ordered an MRI and the technician who reviewed the scan reported the mastoid bone looked fine. Dr. Jones did not catch that error. The mastoid could not have looked fine, it was removed. Keep looking for a doctor. He's always been more interested in talking about hunting with my husband than listening to my husbands concerns.

Quick to get the money and do the surgery, but never heard one thing from them after to see how I was doing. The billing dept. is quick to call though.

Dr Jones is a man who gets right to the point. I am sure he's busy with a lot of patients. I appreciate his accuracy with his diagnoses, but his staff is great to deal with as well. As you all know insurance companies suck, especially with medications. His nurse Star, went out of his way and assisted me with the insurance company, and got the meds I needed on time.

We had a totally different experience than the rest of the patients. My husbands condition was difficult to diagnose. Dr. Jones answered my husband's questions honestly--which includes--I haven't a clue. I appreciate that because he didn't try to bluster his way through the many questions my husband had nor did he paint a picture that all would be fine. There are some things medical science has not yet figured out. He did know that given the scenario my husband presented, past experience led to the treatment he prescribed as successful. He explained why he gave certain tests, what they told him, what conditions the tests results eliminated and what tests would then be ordered and what he hoped to find out from them. We have begun the treatment--we were pleased with the physical therapist and feel the treatment makes sense. He was a no-nonsense guy and got the job done. I'd recommend him to anyone in a similar situation.

If you are looking for someone to take a few minutes to explain to you what might be the problem, look elsewhere. I had to go to another doctor because Dr Jones took a quick 5 minute look at me and then had me out the door more confused than when I arrived. A very disappointing visit. I did however, find a great doctor for a second opinion.

I have seen this doctor a few times now.He spooks me really bad. I know he is old school but there is a limit. He does not seem to know anything about the latest techniques out for sinus surgery and he really does not like you bringing things up that you read on medical sites. I really does seem to just be trying to make it to retirement so he can just get out of the business. I have to have surgery soon and so far I cannot find another surgeon in boise that is worth a darn, boise is has really low quality surgeons on every level I have found. I am going to have the surgery with doctor jones and I will report back afterward to give you all an update. So far, I am really scared. For instance, I asked him what the sinusus did and his answer was "I have no idea" this is a man that does sinus surgeries every tuesday and he has no idea why a person has sinuses. He just wants out, I can tell, he just wants to retire...hopefully I am not going to be some rush job, I really hope he does a… great job for me. I will let you all know.

I've taken my child to Jones several times. Although the original surgery for tube implantation was done well, every experience I and my son have had with this Dr. has been very poor. He acts uninterested in patient concerns, spends as little time as possible with us. In each appointment he has managed be derogatory to either myself or about the physician that referred us to him. I can truly say that Ace Jones will have to be the last ENT physician left in Boise before I would let him share so much as another single moment of either my son or I's life.
