Dr. Arturo Gomez, MD

I was referred to Dr. Gomez for a knee replacement. I have been suffering in severe pain for over a year, and have become totally dependent on my wheelchair to get around. Needless to say, I haven't been able to exercise as much as I should and I gained a little bit of weight. Dr. Gomez was so rude and cold-hearted. After spending a few minutes speaking with his nurse, he barged in the room and told me that I was too fat for surgery, and told me to come back when my weight was under control.He then walked out, leaving me feeling completely embarrassed and like I never had a chance to say a word. I requested a new visit with a different surgeon and was referred to one of Dr. Gomez's partners. Such a night and day experience. The new surgeon was kind and gave me a chance to speak. He did tell me that I would need to lose some weight to qualify for surgery, but the way he did it made me feel like a human being. Dr. Gomez- I hope you see this message and I hope you change the way you… talk to people. You may be a good surgeon, but your bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired.

My daughter broke her arm and needed surgery. We took her to KMC and got doctor Gomez. He was very caring and poliet. He never once thought of my daughter as just a patient but as a person. Then this year when my son broke his leg we again got doctor Gomez who remembered me from when my daughter broke her arm...Again he was very poliet and explained the process to me and made sure that all my questions were answered. I would recremend him to anyone in need of an ortho surgon.
