Dr. Arvind Kumar Salwan, MD

At this point I don’t know if it’s the Dr or his staff. But if you have any Prescriptions that need to be fillled or medical documents signed this Dr is not for you. He and his staff take their time in filling prescriptions and signing time sensitive paperwork. He is nonchalant and so is his staff. Time means nothing to this Dr. This is inexcusable and irresponsible.

Dr. Salwan as well as his NP, Deborah Freeman are amazing! We, my husband for 5+ years and myself only starting 5 months ago, primarily see Deborah. Between us, we have had visits with Dr Salwan a combined total of 9 visits. They are both caring, professional, knowledgeable, and completely understandable. They make comprehensive notes that they consistently refer back to in order to not lose track of previous treatments and tests. Both of them explain technical medical terms in sensible terms without being patronizing. They are seldom wrong in their first diagnoses of multiple, complex issues with the same patient. They discuss treatment options, giving their recommendations as well as why they recommend what they do. They will accept the patient's choice of treatment option if different from their choice. In the 5+ years that my husband has been their patient, neither of them has steered him wrong. They listen closely, ask pertinent questions, and offer their "opinions" confidently,… without arrogance. Both Dr. Salwan and Deborah Freeman are credits to the medical profession as a whole. My husband is 73 years old and extremely particular about his medical care. I am 56 and Deborah's thorough care of my husband convinced me to begin seeing her. I wish that I had made the change years ago! We have every confidence in Deborah and after dealing with Dr. Salwan while she was absent this year for medical reasons of her own, we fully understand the quality of care provided by both him and his medical staff. I will admit that over the years, I've had issues with his back office staff but clear, polite communication and perseverance have essentially cleared those issues up. I have never had a problem with making appointments. No staff member has been rude to my face or on the phone. Even when we have consecutive appointments and we are taken back together, we are in and out within an hour, hour and a half at the most. In that time, Deborah conducts thorough appointments with both of us. It is not unusual for her to spend 20-25+ minutes with us. I cannot recommend either Dr. Salwan or Deborah Freeman enough. My husband wholeheartedly supports my opinion.

His staff gets everything wrong.. they are rude and not good at their job

Don’t waste you time and money to see this doctor. I went to him for chronic pain that I have been seeing other doctor for. But being I move I had to change my primary doctor in order to see a pain management doctor. This doctor refused to write any pain medication for me and said to go to pain management. That’s fine and dandy but you can’t get a pain management appointment for weeks. Long story short I spent 2.5 weeks in bed because the doctor refused to write any narcotic pain meds. After waiting to see pain management doctor, I called the office a couple of times for pain meds and they state “ they don’t write any pain medication for patients “. Being today day and age of opioid over prescribed meds, I understand. Isn’t that why we go to the doctor? If pain meds are needed they should at least give the patient something.Even urgent care won’t write prescription for pain meds anymore. The primary doctor has to do it. So in closing don’t go to this office if you need anything… pain medication wise as they won’t write anything

The only positive credit I have for Dr. Arvind K Salwan's practice is in reference to his well represented and clean office; which one star rating of mine should be quite sufficient enough in a whole ! Out my some three to four visits to Dr. Arvind Salwan in a year's time here's the story! I wait three weeks for an appointment with Dr. Salwan for a second visit about my fatal blood pressure disorder, which was not addressed initially on the first visit, given the fact that I had authorized Dr. Salwan to my medical records through my previous doctor from the L.A. county. On the time of my second appointment specifically made with Dr Salwan, I was told by the receptionist that, " Dr. Salwan is not in, so you will have to see the nurse practitioner, so fill out this questionnaire!" What? Having waited three weeks specifically for Dr. Salwan, now [I have to] see the nurse practitioner? Who is making such ruling that I will [have to] see the nurse practitioner! Don't I deserve… a choice at least without even getting a prior courtesy notice of such? Well I decided I better see the nurse practitioner while I was there already. So I asked what had gone wrong. She said, " they should've told you that he would not be in when you made the appointment!" Well, what does they [should've] really mean? Quite puzzling! Any how, as I get called in by the nurse practitioner I witnessed Dr. Salwan walking by! So I had to get his attention and said, " Dr. Salwan! Your receptionist just said that you were not in and you were working at a different office!" Now the receptionist yells across, " I never said he was not in, I said he was not available!" What does it mean exactly when one has an appointment with a specific doctor? Any how Dr. Salwan made a point of a rush visit with me on a couple of conditions I was in for, A. My fainting after my first meal in the day, light headedness and dizziness on regular daily basis! B. Congestion in my chest As far as my problem A. he said I look like I work out and I seem to be in a good health! Well, who said that one can judge a book by its cover? Well I was actually in for a serious fatal internal problem, which I will get to it later and I was far from looking for an evaluation of my physical appearance! As far as my congestion, that he had to admit that it was there, but I am yet to get the prescription for! He asked, if I would like a prescription, I said but of course! At the reception desk I was told the prescription would be mailed out to me in a couple of days. Three weeks later wondering about this prescription, I called in and I am told it was too late then and I needed to go back in again! Well, how would one justify this? Is this Dr. Salwan in practice to help the patient, or is he merely after getting a signed visitation sheet to bill the insurance company? Furthermore, after doing my own research about my condition, I found out that I have a fatal blood pressure disorder called [Postprandial Hypotension], posted on line by Dr. John Morley. So I call Dr. Salwan's office and ask Ashley at the desk to see if Dr. Salwan has any idea of the said condition before I have to go in again, stressing that he already had failed me on three previous visits to address my condition and I was not willing to go in and sign another visitation sheet for him, unless he is knowledgeable of the said condition and will be able to guide me accordingly. After over a 24 hour wait, I called back in again for an answer to my quest! The answer! - You will have to come back in for that !"

I have been with dr Salman for ten years he is a great doctor and he nos he's staff he saved my life in 2014 when I was almost had cancer if you what a doctor that cares about his pt then see him I don't no how to think him Melissa fenoff

Dr. Salwan is an excellent, caring physician. His Nurse Practitioner is exceptional. HOWEVER, calling to make an appointment is a NIGHTMARE!!!!!! I've called three times and left three messages without ever speaking to a human. This practice is unconscionable and a very poor business practice.

Dr. Salwan is known for being a compassionate doctor but what good is compassionate if you have to sit in the waiting room for almost 2 hours at every single appointment! I don't need compassion THAT much!! They triple book appointments. If you have an appt...plan on wasting your entire day at his office! Ridiculous!!

Dr salwan is a nice man and a very competent doctor however his staff is less than 4 if there was less than 4 rating that would be my rating they are incompetent rude refuse to do their job refused to return phone calls and absolutely do not know how to do referrals you would be lucky to have dr. as a doctor but his staff comes along as baggage and that baggage is complete crap

What is wrong with the "humans" working at medical facilities?? It is your job to assist the dr and make sure you do your job of answering phones, returning calls, following through with referrals and providing at the very least lab results for patients~ I love Dr Arvind Salwan, he is an amazing doctor but the "staff" at his office have made me regret referring family and friends to them! They are unprofessional and incompetent!!!! And I apologize to everyone I have ever referred to them!
