Dr. Arya Giri Varthi, MD

I was in complete agony with a badly herniated disc from my job as a nurse. Dr. Varthi was wonderful and explained all of the options, including providing a complete picture of the risks and benefits of surgery. He was kind and accessible. He performed a 4 hour surgery on my back and the pain relief I felt was amazing. He did a wonderful job and I had no complications at all. The nurses on the surgical floor were also great. He has a great team and is a wonderful surgeon. I highly recommend him. He takes his time, is very personable and honest, presents all of the options, and is a great surgeon. He has been wonderful to have as a physician.

I cannot believe how incredibly helpful and personable Dr. Varthi is. The nature of my injury lead me through over a dozen different doctor's offices, meeting several different doctors and medical professionals. My pain was such that for nearly a year, my life was a blur of sleepless nights, fear, and terrible pain which prohibited me from working even a desk job let alone anything laborious. I'm very glad I had the opportunity to meet and work with Dr. Varthi. I do not say this lightly, Dr. Varthi practically saved my life with his work. He was honest and told me what was happening and why, step by step. Whenever I had a question, he was polite and did not pull from the truth about his concerns and his advice. He shared his opinions and helped me weigh my best options efficiently in a timely manner that helped me understand the nature of my injury and all the options available to me, AS WELL AS what those options meant for me in terms of potential costs and recovery processes. He… explained everything and gave his time willingly to my wife and me whenever we had questions (and we had many questions). My recovery has been without issue. I have had three post-op check ups, with the final one scheduled for a few months from now (assuming we can still have that check up with this pandemic going on). The surgery scar is small, and the pain has subsided just as Varthi said it would. The recovery process is still ongoing as I am not a year out from my surgery date yet, and I have been following his advice still because it has thus far proved to be accurate and helpful. Dealing with this injury was a frightening experience because I felt like I could not help myself for the first time in my life. I am appreciative of Dr. Varthi because he helped me and is still helping me. More importantly, he relieved the stress that this injury was putting on my wife. So he helped me recover physically, but he also helped me emotionally and helped my family.
