Dr. Asha John, MD

Saw this doctor after my PCP retired. She never submitted refills for an asthma inhaler and a migraine med that I had taken for years. When I needed to refill, the pharmacy had to call her. It took her a week after many calls from me and the store and she submitted one refill and we played the game all over again tge bext month with the migraine med. She sent me for an MRI. I had the results the next day but waited a week for a call from her for the next step. Had she called sooner, PT would have been started before the holidays. Her delay pushed that to the new year when at least 4 sessions could have been scheduled. Months later, again, the same nonsense with refills but this time her NP sent a msg saying it was because I changed doctors. I didn't. Valley's patient navigator made an appointment with a different doctor when an appointment was not available with Dr John. The pharmacy confirmed the prescription was not from the covering doctor and that they had been calling her for a… week. My retired doctor always submitted six months worth of my meds as needs can fluctuate. Dr John didn't seem to care.

My first appointment with this MD was a disappointment. She was astonishingly rude, wasted a lot of time lecturing on getting annual screenings (didn't get them during 2020) during a visit for a disabling problem I was having. Maybe she was having a bad day but she was the last VMG MD I will consult with.

Dr. Asha John is a very good physician. She takes an interest in you and answers any questions you have. She does not rush you. I would highly recommend her!

What a friendly doctor and staff!

Making appointment was not as bad as what other people said. It did appear that you could only leave messages and wait for a call back. Went for an annual check-up and got to see her an hour and 5 min later than the appointment time. Not sure if the clinic over-scheduled her patient, or she was just very slow. It's also funny there is no even sign of her name in the entire clinic or on the website. And the assistant there said she has been working there for years. She appeared to be very cold, and it's not because of her accent, maybe in her culture doctors are far more superior to patient and acting like that makes her feel professional. Asked her about doing certain test, and I couldn't believe she rolled up her eyes as if I was being idiotic and trying to do her job. That didn't help her remember to order that test, and I need to do it again with my other specialist. I'm not going back to her.

I saw Dr. Asha John for pain and swelling in my leg. She sent me for a doppler ultrasound exam and marked the prescription STAT, ensuring me that she would call me immediately upon receipt of the report from radiologist. That was Tuesday, 10/07/14 at 10:30am. I had the ultrasound at 1:00pm that same day. Radiology Associates assured me the results were sent to Dr. John at 2pm on 10/07/14. I called the Dr John's office four times and didn't hear back with my results until this morning, 10/09/14. Very unprofessional. Waiting 48 hours to hear whether or not you have a blood clot is not right. First and last visit with Dr. John.
