Dr. Assa Weinberg, MD

Where to begin where to begin, the whole experience has been horrible. I got referred here by my primary doctor and once my referral came in I called to schedule my appointment which is when this nightmare began. The person answering phones and I assume running the front desk is awful!!!! She asked what insurance I have, I told her, and she began telling me they don't accept it... Okay, but my doctors office, that knows my insurance, referred me so why would they send me to a doctor that doesn't accept my insurance? After going back and forth with her I ask if there is a way to look me up by name or referral number, something? She says, "Oh you have your referral number? I can look that up." Why would you not ask that from the very beginning!? Anyway, after waiting almost 2 months I have my phone appointment with the doctor scheduled for 1:30pm. Once 1:50 came around I called to check if I had the right date, I was told the doctor was running behind and if I didn't hear from him by 5… they'd have to reschedule for next week. What!? Is this some swap meet doctor or something because the professionalism is nonexistent here. After several issues I get to talk to the doctor at 2:45... over an hour after my appointment. The doctor was extremely rude the entire appointment with every sentence he spoke. Any response I gave to his questions was met with questioning hostility as if I was lying or withholding information from him. He would also cut me off frequently or just talk over me while I was answering him. According to him he decided to cut the appointment short because he felt our "interesting conversation" wasn't providing him anything and had his nurse schedule me another appointment 6 weeks out. Im obviously going to get referred to a different doctor that when I tell them I am allergic to aspirin doesn't then ask if I can take Advil (an aspirin pain reliever). If I were you I would do more research, which I wish I had done, and find a different doctor to see. Before writing this I read through some other reviews with information that would've been a huge red flag had I seen it prior to my appointment.

The longest wait, he talks talks talks and then asks you to go back again and again.

He needs to Retire! He had me take several MrI's for my problems, but when I told him that the back of my neck was in so much pain, he told me that I didn't need to take an mri for that! I never went back to him. I then went to a neurologist and an orthopedic specialist, which told me that I needed to see a Spine Surgeon immediately, because I had intense inflammation of the neck and spine, Cervical Stenosis and Lumbar Stenosis. My fingers and hands were going 'numb' because the discs in back of my neck were pressing against my nerves. if I didn't have this surgery, the 'numbness' would have traveled to the rest of my body, and the surgeon told me that I could have ended up a 'parapelegic' from the neck-down! I wouldn't recommend Dr. Assa, to ANYONE!!!! He is a 'Charlotin'!!!! Beware......

I first 'liked' this doctor, thinking that the Very LONG Wait-time, would be 'well Worth' seeing him. On the First visit, I offered him my disability medical papers with my diagnosis, but he didn't want to see them. He said, "Next visit, you can show me". I thought that was 'ok', until the next TWO visits, several months apart. I was in sooo much pain and asked him for referrals to get x-rays done. He agreed. On the 4th visit, I brought in to the office the results of these four x-rays, which another dr. told me that he didn't like the results and to talk to Dr. Weinberg about this. When I brought the paper work and the cd's(x-rays), he didn't want to even 'see' them, and said, "Next time". I called his office and asked the receptionist to give him the message that I wanted an X-Ray taken of the back of my neck. I didn't get a response, so I called about a week later and the Receptionist was very rude to me and said, "You are always calling". I told her that I was in terrible pain and… Needed to talk to the doctor. She said, The doctor is with patients. I told her that 'I' am his patient as well. Well, when I came in for my Last appointment, apparently she told the doctor some 'fabricated' lie about what I said. When I came into the doctors office, He SCREAMED at me and told me 'I will NOT have you talking to my staff the way you did'!. First of all, I told him that there are Always Two sides to a story and I told him exactly what I said to the receptionist and that she was very Rude to me! He told me that he would have a 'Talk' with her. I then told him about the terrible pain in the back of my neck and I wanted to get an x-ray. He plainly told me, "You don't need that done". He told me that there are Plenty of Rhuematologists and if I am not 'satisfied' with him, go to another doctor. Well, I took his 'advice' and I am VERY happy that I went to see an Orthopedic Sports Medicine doctor and also a Neurologist. I was very happy because they took x-rays and also Mri's of my entire spine, and discovered that I have Cervical and Lumbar Spondilitis, which is causing my discs in the back of my neck to be pressing on my nerves. My next step is to talk to a Spine Surgeon, which was 'recommended' by both of my doctors. If I had left it up to Dr. Weinberg, I'd be 'suffering' for many years! I would NOT recommend Dr. Weinberg to Anyone, unless you just want to hear about his 'Big Beautiful Office' and How he can Afford it. That's all he talks about. Oh, by the way, I looked him up on the computer after my last visit to him, and he was ';Kicked-Off the Board of Cedars-Sinai, in 2004!!!!

Awesome Doctor wow !! He has so much information he can give you ! The wait is pretty long but he is totally worth it ! One girl in he front who's pretty wonderful takes care of all the authorizations and so nice to all the super annoyed people waiting to see the dr !

Great Doctor and Wonderful staff took me a while to see him because of his busy schedule but the wait was worth it !!! The girls at the office are amazing always happy and smiley and always offering snacks and coffee water . Virginia is the authorization girl there and wow she is excellent takes her 1 day to get authorizations approved ! I'm so lucky I found such an wonderful doctor and office and know I'm in the best care !

Great Doctor with a great staff!! It feels like family when I visit this doctor and staff is so friendly always offering coffee and snacks !! Virginia and Michelle are the main girls there and always a pleasure to deal with !

Dr. Weingberg is of the rare Doctors that takes time to listen and to you. He is an excerpt on the medical field that always solves my medical issues. He is the best!

Thanks to him for all the help in keeping me alive! Jesus must have known I couldn't servive on faith alone!
