Dr. Atreyi Chakrabarti, MD

I am extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with the attitude of this doctor. She always kept patient waiting even though they called me inside and her assistant checked me, she always come 15-20 minutes after that to see the patient. I went for my physical appointment and she charged me twice for the same visit one for physical and another for a regular visit even though we didn’t discuss anything about any other issues. She even didn’t tell me to make another appointment or anything. But charged twice for one physical appointment. They even send the bill after one and half year of the physical appointment. I was completely surprised to see the bill. She can’t charge me twice for one well visit. She is all about doing business in the name of patient care. Such a ruthless person! I talked to UMASS about it but they didn’t take any action regarding this issue. I would recommend to avoid this kind of doctor.

Dr. Chakrabarti is excellent. I have been a patient of hers for years and have had several health issues including cancer which she diagnosed and was extremely compassionate and caring and supportive throughout that very scary time in my life. I can always get an appointment for urgent needs quickly and she is very thorough in making sure that I receive the right tests and follow up. I have referred many patients to her over the years and everybody I referred is still with her to this day as well.

The above Doctor is the best primary care doctor I have ever had, she will not let you leave the office until you are totally confident with her care and knowledge of medicine. I always have a great feeling when I leave her office. She spends time with you, and cares 100% about her patients.

Dr Chakrabarti is very caring and compassionate.

She spoke condescendingly to me when I became emotional about my condition. She said she had other patients waiting....all this when I was upset and crying. She wasn't compassionate and understanding at all. She was all business. All she had to do was say to me that she would do everything she could to make sure I was okay. That's all. But that didn't happen. Instead she asked me in a sarcastic sort of way, "What else do you want me to do?" Very poor bedside manner.
