Dr. Atul Kumar Sheth, MD

Dr. Sheth is a very caring Dr. who really works to get & keep his patients mentally stable. Intentally listens & asks questions to adjust treatment as needed.

He shouldn't be a psychatrist.

I have nothing to complain about, wonderful doctor and great staff !!!!

I saw doctor Sheth today, and this is my honest review: I went into his office for depression and suicidal thoughts and was promptly looked from head to toe very critically. I felt uncomfortable and he did nothing to put me at ease. He then asked me the 5 basic questions: have you ever self-harmed, have you recently done drugs or alchohol, do you smoke, have you ever attempted suicide, and how long I've felt depressed. I answered all 5 of these questions as honestly as possible, essentially bearing my soul to this man. He then looks at me and tells me that I am not depressed, nor suicidal, and that it is my personality that makes me feel this way. He TOLD me that I wasn't depressed and that I have a poor personality... I'm sorry, but I'd like to think I know what I've been suffering through for years of my life, and I suffer from a slew of other things besides depression... insomnia and anxiety chief among them, which I was never asked about. I was in and out the door in around… 7 minutes time. I felt disregarded, disrespected, and I felt like i was nothing but a waste of his time he could be spending doing anything else. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE ANYONE SUFFERING FROM ANY SORT OF MENTAL ILLNESS OR DEPRESSION TO FIND ANOTHER MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL IN THE AREA! I left his office feeling worse than I did going into it, and if 0 of 4 stars was an option, that would be my review. If you're having suicidal thoughts and truly want to get better, go see Dr. Glavin, as he actually cares about his patients, which is more than I can say about "Dr." Sheth. Thank you to anyone for taking the time to read this.

Dr. Sheth does not take time for his patients. My 8 year old son has been having behavioral issues. Dr. Sheth never actually evaluated him or, for that matter. even talked to him! He asked me a few questions, then threw him on a couple medications that I later found out (from a second opinion somewhere else) contradict each other. I was lucky my child didn't have an adverse reaction. He also informed me (with my child sitting right there) that the behaviors my son is displaying are what the prison system is overloaded with. and basically that is where my child is going to end up because medicine will do nothing for his behavior. I was incredibly disgusted by his whole attitude toward our situation, we went to him for help, not to be told that no matter what we do, my child will end up in prison as an adult!! We have not yet found a psychiatrist to suit our needs, but Dr. Sheth was by far the WORST "Doctor" we have been to yet!!

Dr. Sheth was the first to correctly diagnose me and he steadily worked with me to establish a regimen that keeps my symptoms in check. The length of his appointments are tailored to the case and he does treat children. His office staff is friendly and first-rate. He is always professional in his decorum and honest in response to questions.

My son was being treated by Dr Sheth. He is 11. Despite the fact that Dr Sheth was told that my son was suicidal, he did not ask my son any questions, or review his medication. Dr Sheth became very agitated when I mentioned that I wanted my son to see someone who specialized in Child Psychiatry, rather than Forensic Psychiatry. Has no time for his patients, no connection, and keeps his appointments to under ten minutes. Did no in depth initial assessment.
