Dr. Audrey Helene Nuccio, MD

Dr. Nuccio tirelessly worked with me to determine the perfect treatment for my chronic migraines. We finally found the solution, but sadly (and frustratingly) my insurance wouldn't cover the treatment. Dr. Nuccio immediately wrote an appeal on my behalf. She is a brilliant doctor with the problem-solving skills and compassion to treat such a complicated problem with many factors. Highly recommend!

Dr. Nuccio is the best there is in Atlanta. She has saved me from myself and is a Wonderful person

Dr. Nuccio is wonderful in person, but good luck trying to reach her or her staff through the portal or by telephone. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, must be done in person, because you WILL NOT receive a response otherwise. The medical records department is the same way. Show up in person or they won't send the requested referrals and won't return your calls. Very frustrating.

3 calls left over 2 months about a medicine side effect with no return calls. Attempts to refill a prescription ignored for a week. I'll take my business elsewhere.

On December, 12, 2017 I took a friend with severe anxiety (due to a traumatic brain injury suffered 6 years earlier) to see Dr, Nuccio for multiple falls. At the time of the initial evaluation, Dr, Nuccio was indeed WONDERFUL! She spent time, explained everything, etc Dr. Nuccio recommended that she reduce the valium she needed for her anxiety as it might help her with her balance but stressed the importance of doing so VERY SLOWLY due to the addictive nature of the drug. She further stated that she would be happy to monitor the gradual decreased dosaging and to let her know if we needed more valium, which we did not at the time. I also informed Dr. Nuccio that my friend would be seeing a neuropsychiatrist in January re-evaluate her medications and their impact, if an, on her multiple falls. My name was listed in the chart as a contact due to my friend’s cognitive deficits and severe anxiety. On 12/20 I left a message on voice mail, there would be no valium left by 12/28 but… that the dosage had been reduced per her recommendation. On Friday 12/22 I called again (after the pharmacy told me it had not been called in)) and was told that the message was waiting for Dr. Nuccio's signature and that it might be there by that afternoon (which was a Friday). I expressed my concern to the woman I spoke to that the valium was very important because of her brain injury (and not chronic pain) and extreme anxiety and that Dr. Nuccio specifically told me to call her if we needed more. Still nothing. On 12/27, I called the office yet again and specifically said that my friend would be out of valium the next day. Of course, my friend was indeed getting frantic now and calling me daily multiple times to ask about her prescription. I expressed my anger (not very nicely, I admit) that nothing had been called in and my fear of the consequences for my friend. I returned a call to Radiant that had been left on my home phone despite the fact that I requested that I be contacted on my cell on Thursday on 12/28. She told me she had left a message for the patient. When I reminded her of my friend’s brain injury she replied, "Oh right” like she had forgotten about it. She told me Dr. Nuccio wanted to know why I was calling her for a valium refill when she had not prescribed it to begin with. So much for a weeks’ worth of time, multiple voice mails, energy and aggravation when all I was doing was trying to fill a prescription per the doctor's own recommendations and follow her specific instructions. I have no idea where the breakdown in communication was but it is for that reason, that I would not recommend using anyone in this particular medical group if subsequent visits or any type of communication might be needed.
