Dr. Avantika M Patel, MD

I have had Dr. Avantika Patel as my doctor for approximately 8 years. She has always listened to my concerns and been professional. I leave feeling she has checked my issues & keeps my health on the right path. Being single & a senior, I feel that she is my main health advocate, The staff , nurses, & technicians work like a team & are friendly. I seldom have to wait to be seen at this location. However , I had a wait of about 30 minutes for my last appointment. It didn't upset me as I know some appointments run longer than the scheduled time. Dr, Patel took her time with me & I did not feel she was trying to rush me thru. I would definitely recommend Dr. Patel to anyone seeking a new physician.

I had an appointment with Dr. Patel for my yearly checkup this week. I have been a patient of Dr. Patel for the past 6 years and have been thoroughly pleased with each and every visit. She listens to what you have to tell her and then works with you to resolve any/all issues you have been encountering. She has helped me over the years learn how to manage my diabetes which gives me peace of mind each and every day. Dr. Patel is a definite asset to the Kaiser Permanente family of physicians. Monica

My first visit with Dr. Patel was in early 2017 for an annual physical. She had a bad cold with coughing and sneezing and no face mask. I felt violated. A week later I and my roommate, both in our mid 70’s, had bad colds compliments of Dr. Patel. 2018 I complained of headaches, lightheadedness, slight woozy feeling, muddled thinking, and slight nausea. She ran standard blood and urine tests all with negative results. I suggested an antibiotic which she said was not indicated and prescribed nothing because her “Hands were tied.” I visited a DO outside my HMO system that tested me for Septicemia with positive results for bacterial infection of my blood and prescribed an antibiotic that has me doing significantly better. Dr. Patel relies too much on technical solutions for diagnoses and not enough on education, training, practical experience, and intuition; I’m surprised she’s a board certified internist.

Saw for stomach issues... Gave me medicine to help with nausea but did not check for infection. Ended up in the hospital a week later needing copious amounts of fluid and Dr's at the hospital found three different infections. Recovery could have started at the first appointment if more had been looked at.
