Dr. Aws Amir Alawi, MD

I went to the hospital emergency room with symptoms of a stroke. Based on my age and other risk factors, the initial diagnosis was a likely transitory ischemic attack. Dr. Alawi recommended admission to the hospital for further tests. Those tests revealed that I did have an actual stroke. After more testing, the cause remained elusive. I was scheduled for release with the cause still unknown, but Dr. Alawi pushed for more tests to rule out other possible causes. Based on his recommendation, I had tests for blood clots in my legs and a valve issue in my heart. Those came back positive as the cause of my stroke and can be treated to reduce the risk of further events. I think it was Dr. Alawi's instinct and expertise that solved the mystery. If it wasn't for that, the cause of my condition would not have been identified and I would have been at severe risk of another event.

No words to describe how grateful I am to Dr. Alawi! I am alive because of him!! He’s an excellent physician and a great person.
