My daughter was pregnant. She wanted to have (and keep) the baby. My daughter signed papers so we could speak for her (she was 18 but suffering from cannabis induced psychosis). We told the doctor we did really want her on medication (we had gotten advise from 2 ob-gyn's and a psychiatrist). She pushed the issue and said she would never get well. She then committed my daughter without telling us (because she told them she "wanted to go home. We would have supported them not taking her home if they talked with us). She then upped her medication (tripled it) without checking with us and by saying to her (we are going to give you more medication so you can get out of here. Ok?". She has since moved to Princeton House. Been there for one week - WITHOUT MEDICATION - and she is going home because she is better.
