Dr. Merchant’s roles included the Division Chief of General Surgery and MIS and Director of the Surgical Simulation Education program at Rutgers NJMS. Dr. Merchant helped expand the Minimally Invasive and Robotic General Surgery program at University Hospital Newark. Dr. Merchant has conducted extensive research in …minimally invasive, foregut, and acute care surgery as well as surgical health disparities. Dr. Merchant will be an excellent addition to the Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center.
