Dr. Bama Sridhar, MD

I am glad to have the opportunity to introduce myself and share information about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente, as it allows me to work among wonderful colleagues and patients in an integrated setting.

Biography
I completed my residency in Michigan and moved to California; soon afterwards, I joined Kaiser Permanente and have been with our organization for 20 years. I have found my years with Kaiser Permanente to be rewarding by way of interacting with my peers, clinic staff, and, most importantly, my patients.

About my practice
Today's lifestyles and the demands placed on everyone's lives affect health in many ways. As a physician/psychiatrist practicing at Kaiser Permanente, when making an assessment of a patient and recommending appropriate interventions, I like to focus on "self-care," emphasizing that patients allow down time for themselves, make time for exercise, and set realistic expectations of themselves. It is helpful to tailor a …treatment plan to suit an individual member's needs, encouraging his or her active participation in his or her own health care. I feel privileged to work in a setting where I have colleagues and support staff to provide the care needed.

How I thrive
Keeping balance in my life and engaging in activities outside of my career is important to me. Being outdoors in nature is very relaxing and I make time to walk and go on hikes. Whenever time permits I like to get into reading a good novel. I also enjoy listening to classical music.
