Dr. Barbara E Karbassi, DDS

My husband and I have been treated by Dr. Karbassi for 10 years. We have found her to be knowledgeable, competent, thorough, and caring. She tracks areas of possible future concern, keeps accurate records, and always communicates clearly. Though dental procedures are not always 100% successful, she always repairs, replaces, or remakes....with no additional charge. She has even come in to make such an adjustment on her day off. Her staff is equally friendly and caring. Having been once terrified of dental work, I now never even dread a dental appointment!

Curt, impatient bedside manner by Dr. Karbassi. Not very friendly

I had been seeing this dentist for several years but most of her work was pretty routine. Had a couple crowns done and 1 filling ( it fell out but I didn't replace it ). Then I cracked the root of my #21 cuspid. She offered to do an implant to hold the new crown. Said she had done a couple before O.K. I agreed and she pulled the tooth. This was Sept. of 2011. She had to fill the hole with grafting material and I went back in Dec. for the implant. A week after the surgery she called me into the office. She tried to do something but it hurt so bad she had to stop. I think at that time she moved the implant which caused soft tissue to grow in around the it and it was doomed to fail, which it did. My jaw was still hurting bad after several weeks, so I went in for her to check it and when she shot me with anasthetic, the implant popped out. She had charged me $1250 for this procedure, but it was going to cost me $40 to get a refund (carecredit) so they kept it for future work. I had to go… to an oral surgeon who charged me $3001 to fix this screwup. See my review of Dr. Bradford Hepworth to see how that turned out. 18 months later I now have sort of a tooth. Also found out my sister in law had 3 fillings done last year for $900 and they have all fallen out and replaced by another dentist.

This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a dentist! This facility may be clean and pretty but I feel like I was taken total advantage of by Dr.Karbassi herself and then her front desk billers! I was never told of the "hidden" fees they charged me along with the procedures they billed my insurance, but then expected me to pay over $300 out of my pocket that day just to walk out of their office! I thought this was just an "off" day for the office (it happens), but unfortunatly it wasn't! My next visit with my children they did the exact same thing (even though I asked to be told about charges as they accumulated) and I had to pay over $200 to walk out of their office again!
