When I was diagnosed with my current illness, it was Dr. Mandell who I meet at her Rockaway clinic. After prescribing the needed medicines, she calmly explained the actions I need to take and game comfort that I will be fine. She left the clinic and in spite of my repeated efforts to see her I could not. Dr. Barbara Mandell has the needed qualities an MD should have and I wish her well.

Had a wonderful experience with Dr Barbara Mandell. She was thorough and spoke to me during my physical exam which kept it calm and personal. She asked all the pertinent questions regarding any mental and/or physical issues for a person my age and was so on target. Rarely have I had a physician who has the time to converse and try to get to know me. I’m looking forward to a long doctor/patient relationship with her!

To all who have been wondering about the recent events with Dr mandell, well simply put she was forced out. About a year ago she sold her practice to mercy medical group, she was under contract and when her contract came up for renewal she wanted to go to part time, this I can see she really put in a lot of time. So push come to shove mercy wanted all or nothing and a dispute over contracts took the best Dr in world out of the practice. So want someone to blame it wasn't her choice.

Dr. Mandell has been my PCP since 1996. I have always found her to be very a compassionate and caring doctor and always took time to listen to me and explain whatever I needed to know. She has been my savior through many of the hard times I have gone through during the years with her and I considered her more than a doctor. I had a great repoire with her and feel so lost that she is no longer in Hewlett. I am so surprised that she just left and didn't let any of her patients know what was happening, I would never have expected this of her.

I was shocked to hear she was just leaving.I have been her patient for over 10yrs. I will miss her so much. I don't know if another doctor is taking her place.
