Dr. Barbara Louise Schwartz, MD

I was hospitalized for 12 days and Dr Schwartz wouldn't want to exam me after discharged (per doctor's discharged order ) face to face at all. Dr Schwartz only wanted to do via phone even though I had test and labs showing that I'm not contagious. If I had some other possibly minor problem, dr Schwartz told me to go to the ER instead of doing a thorough check up. Her staffs had to fill out some FMLA paperworks and the manager insisted me paying $25 which I did , before she even sent it out. It was a nightmare to deal with her staffs because the manager filled out incomplete information, wrong information. Every time I asked her to correct those information, she had never returned my phone call or emails. When I was at my sickest , dr Schwartz sent me a letter to drop me as a patient because I was complaining about the unorganization, rudeness, and inefficiency of the office manager . So much for "compassionate " and "caring " from the Hippocratic Oath that a physician had taken. 2… months afterward, I keep receiving this bill of $25 and it's stated that I had to pay right away (which I already paid in order for the manager to fill out my FMLA) ; otherwise they will send it to the collection agency. I called office right away and no one wanted to talk with me. They transferred me to the office manager's voice mail and I left a message explaining that I already paid. I also emailed the office staff and manager the receipt that showed I already paid that amount 3 months ago. As always , no phone call or no reply from the office manager. I don't know what else I should do to get the status of this issue ? Such a headache to deal with them and it's sad to see how irresponsible of a physician office manager is while their jobs and duties are to care for the sick and provide quality of care to any patients without discriminations.

Is hate a strong word? I hate, hate, hate this office! Wonderful Physician but the staff is horrible. I have had multiple calls answered by Candace. She is rude and very short with patients. It is hard to get anything I need as far as my records or new orders. Every time I place a call there, the staff is confused as to what is going on or I'm transferred to multiple people who have zero clue as to what is going.

Dr. Barbara Schwartz is the BEST INTERNEST ever! I have been her patient since 2009. You may have to wait a little while for her, but she gives you all the time you need to ask questions and gives you thorough answers and exam. She is what I call and EXCEPTIONAL DR She is kind, intelligent, compassionate and really cares about your health and concerns. She is very down to earth and not intimidating. I TRUST her with my life! I saw her yesterday and left her office feeling very grateful to have someone who genuinely CARES about about my health concerns. I had a big problem and backed her office up a bit. Please remember that she is worth the wait!!!!She gives you her undivided attention and there is not anything she won’t tackle. She will be my Primary Care as long as she is in practice! Her office staff is also excellent!

Wasted 3 hours in this office only to be poked, prodded and gawked at by every nurse, intern and assistant. No solution given, just pushing meds for blood pressure that wasn’t even high. I went to another doctor the next day who determined the problem in only minutes.

I have been seeing Dr. Schwartz since 2001. She always explains everything, and takes her time with each patient. Sometimes I have to wait, but I know it is because she is giving extraordinary care to another patient. I had a physical a few weeks ago, and went back to get the lab results last week. She always makes sure that I understand all of the results, and how to take my medication. She is the best doctor that I have ever had as a primary physician, and I hope that she stays in practice for many years.

I have seen Dr. Schwartz approximately 3 times. I was very pleased with the first two visits. I recently went to see her for an annual physical exam. During the examination she opened my gown to examine me and she seemed to leave it open for an unusually long period of time without examining anything. She then opened the door to exit for a minute without covering me. A nurse was in the room and she immediately came over to cover me (we exchanged comments about how strange that was). At one point she asked me how I was feeling health-wise and I told her that I felt good. It seemed as though she resented my being there because i wasn't sick. I realize that doctors care for sick people but I went for a physical exam. You don't have to be sick to have that. I got a pap smear and when she was done with that she stuck her finger in my anus. I've never had that done before during a physical. It was a though her parting action was "now take that." It was extremely demeaning. If… that was her intent, she was successful. I will be looking for another doctor.

I've been seeing Dr. Schwartz for many years- wouldn't consider seeing anyone else. She spends the time a patient needs and answers all questions. Her explanations are easily understood. Her staff is a pleasure to speak with.

I've taken my parent to see Dr. Schwartz for several years now and it's always a fiasco. We wait over 2 1/2-3 hours in the waiting room for our scheduled appointment; she spends 5-10 minutes max with my parent and does NOTHING. I HAD TO ASK FOR LAB WORK!! "Oh yea. Let's do some lab work!" She sent my parent to the hospital and let her sit the usual medicare number of days for no reason and even said we weren't discharged because she was waiting for test results that would have had ZERO bearing on her condition. The tests I specifically requested which she agreed to order were not ordered - the discharge papers she promised to leave were not done - the prescriptions she promised to call in were not called in. Oh! But she was prompt to send Medicare a bill for her 1 minute hospital visits for all 4 days. The hospital staff clearly does not like her AT ALL. (Don't believe me? just make a comment to any of the floor nurses and watch their reaction!) I've seen lots of physicians… throughout my days and do not trust any of my loved ones with this physician so we are done!
