I am beyond pleased with Dr. Schwartz. In the immediate months before I had my first visit with Dr. Schwartz I was noticing that I was having a really hard time seeing well and also noticed more and more difficulty reading small print. OK â?? I knew the second part was something that often happens with aging but I also just knew my eyes weren't seeing/feeling right. Since a couple of serious eye conditions run in my family along with my aging eye sight/ problems reading small print, I wanted to try to get a thorough examination and get fitted for bi-focal contact lenses (which I heard was not necessarily easy). So I wanted to make sure I was examined by a really great ophthalmologist. Three people separately recommended Dr. Schwartz and I am so glad they did. When I first arrived at her office there was the standard paperwork to fill out. Almost immediately after I filled the paperwork out I was called in and a technician performed a couple routine tests on my eyes and then… walked me into an examination room where I waited maybe 5 minutes until the doctor came in. She greeted me warmly and introduced herself; we discussed my eye history and what was currently going on. She asked questions based on my past history so I know she really read what I had just written prior to the examination. That in itself is remarkable as so many doctors just take a quick glance (if that) at what the patient writes and then asks the patient for the same information s/he just wrote out in the papers. Not Doctor Schwartz; she really read what I wrote and asked me informed intelligent questions. I asked her a number of questions about the health of my eyes, the possibility of being fitted for bifocal contacts. I've known people who couldn't stand bifocal contact lenses and I know itâ??s not easy to get fitted for them. The doctor had me try several variations of contact lenses to figure out what was best. Turns out that I saw best with one bifocal contact lens in one eye and one regular contact lens in the other- now I can see great just in front of me, at a distance and can also read small print â?? Pretty amazing. Dr. Schwartz really took her time with me during the examination. She noted that she saw something a little unusual and because of my family history, to be on the safe side, she wanted me to come back for a specific type of exam. The receptionist was very accommodating and I was able to make an appointment to have the exam in two weeks, on the day that I requested. At this follow-up exam Dr. Schwartz answered all of my questions with total patience and in a comprehensive, confident manner. Her attitude and bedside manner is polished, warm, professional, and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Schwartz with enthusiasm.
