Dr. Barbara Lucille Smith

Selected Dr, Smith as our pediatrician before our son was born. Met her for the 1st time hours after the birth, in my hospital room at 6 am, w/ out my husband there- she curtly informed me my son had Downs Syndrome , “was sorry”- nothing could be done, then proceeded to ask me if I’d seen the movie “Sophie’s Choice”?! Dr. Smith was 100% wrong about her ‘diagnosis’’, which she gave before a blood draw & culture. Though it’s been years, I still have nightmares about her, her ineptitude & her lack of empathy. We should have filed complaints w/ Pima Co. Medical Board but had been put through the wringer emotionally. Worst medical experience we ever had.

Dr Smith always gives us confident opinions and diagnoses. She is very easy to talk to and gives extremely down to earth advice when needed or asked for. I never feel as though she judges my parenting style and techniques.
