Dr. Barbara Jean Stegmann, MD

Dr. Stegmann was my second doctor in six months with Aspire Fertility. She quit the practice in the middle of my IVF cycle. I was notified via text message six days after egg retrieval. I feel used, harvested and abused. If her workplace environment was that unstable (only info I can get is that there was a 'clash of personalities) she should not have been taking on new patients (and collecting payment for partially provided services). I would never have gone with her if i had known I'd have to go through the whole new doctor process (a 3rd time in less than a calendar year) again. Now I'm sitting here having to explain rudimentary things like my pharmacist benefits, etc to a whole new team when I have already gone through this step TWO TIMES. Not to mention the emotional toll it has taken to put my trust in a whole new team when I was told empty promises from Stegmann. Its a dirty trick to take on new patients that you know you aren't stable enough to give good care to so you can… collect your paycheck for egg retrieval and take off. People with fertility problems are a specially vulnerable group of patients and to manipulate their trust to serve yourself is especially evil. There is a special place in H*LL for you.

Our experience at Aspire was nothing less than phenomenal. The front desk staff has always had a great smile on their face. We were incredibly nervous, having been through IVF elsewhere, and the entire group really made us feel better and treated us like family. We liked the doctor, and we loved the whole team around us. Our nurse was attentive and responsive, and we liked the opportunity to meet the staff in the lab and see what was happening. That was great. Having a counselor there for us - full time - has been a huge help. This is a lot of stress on me, and on our marriage, and its nice to have a clinic that recognizes it. Having been to another clinic for IVF, I want to be clear and up front with other. The prices work differently at Aspire- and for us we appreciate it. Everything is "included" so there isnt any situation where you are caught off guard. That makes the initial price seem a bit like sticker shock, but we went to the largest clinic in Houston and then one out in… Memorial City (did IVF both places) and I can tell you that in the end Aspire was cheaper (a LOT cheaper than the Mem City clinic, just a little cheaper than the "big guys"). That said, it was nice to know up front and not have death by a thousand cuts. It didn't shock us, since we had been through IVF elsewhere and knew what to expect. I can tell you it was nice not to worry through the cycle that we would get another surprise fee. Also - having been through this elsewhere- they have a system they call "aspire connect" that is truly amazing in helping you manage all the moving parts of your IVF cycle and communication. Its as if someone took all the frustrations we have had in the past and fixed them (or tried too- its not perfect). Wow- so much less to worry about. Not pregnant yet- but fingers are crossed. One way or another we love Aspire.

Dr. Stegmann is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever met. The amount of time she takes with each of her patients at Aspire Fertility is incredible. She gives each patient the time they need and really listens to all of their concerns, making sure they leave with no questions unanswered. Her work is incredible and you can tell she truly loves what she does!!! It is a pleasure to know such an amazing woman

the doc was not very nice and we found dr. stegmann pretty condescending and obnoxious. office staff were OK but not ready to spend our hard earned money at a clinic where people are rude.

Dr. Stegman completed our successful embryo transfer.
