Dr. Barbara White, DO

Dr White has great bedside manner. She gives clear explanations.

I had 3 appointments for routine check ups with Dr. White after newly moving to the area. I will never go back. While she was pretty gentile and probably has the ability to be a good doctor, her personality can simply not be overlooked. Shes a bully and she has outdated facts. She has little patience for questions, especially regarding alternative treatments to birth control. I have heavy periods and numerous times she specified she refused to treat me if I didn’t take a medication for my periods (birth control). She offered me one alternative to birth control that is new to the market and specifies that it can cause blood clots, right on the label. After I told her my concerns about that issue, she denied that it caused blood clots. She refused to take my feelings seriously, and tried to scare me into treating my heavy periods by saying they will cause complications for me down the line. I told her I used condoms for birth control and she was adamant that they do not work effectively… for birth control. I’m a 30 year old with a Masters degree who is educated about my sexual and reproductive health. Dr white is operating under information that is 30 years old, uses scare tactics to get her way, and refuses to give you test results over the phone, likely so she can bill for an appointment. Moms PLEASE don’t bring your daughters to her.

Had a terrible experience and will never return to her again. Came in and voiced a specfic concern with her and all I got was judgement. She rushed through, talked down to me the whole time, and did not address my concerns at all! I left the office with no more information than I came in with. I couldn’t believe how unhelpful and inconsiderate this woman was. I’ve never in my life had an experience like that with any doctor.

What a condescending snob who has no energy and is burnt up at the end of her "career"! She was dismissive, snotty and unhelpful for a basic PMS problem! Don't waste your time- go to a knowledgeable dr rather than this quack. She was useless!

Dr. White cares about her patients-pure and simple--if you want a Dr. who listens, looks at the "big picture" and truly cares about your health-then she is your Dr.

I have been going to Dr. White for years. She is the only Dr. that I have who speaks directly to me, and listens to what I have to say without inputting data. She is the only one who does not sit in front of a computer screen while I am in the office with her. I find that priceless! She does not book 3 patients at the same time. She takes the time to consider the whole picture. Dr. White is very comforting and professional and is just really good at what she does. I highly recommend her.

The first few experiences were okay but when I was in an emergency situation, Dr. White was extremely unprofessional! I needed a refill for my BC and she gave me such attitude and hung up on me when I asked for her help. It's ridiculous that she was giving me attitude and talking back to me. Not something you expect from a physician.

In all my experiences with Dr. White, I felt listened to and respected. She treated me as a partner in my care, at the same time providing the expertise and guidance I needed. I always felt secure in her advice, particularly because I was presented with the options and education to make an informed decision. Her calm manner, humor and straightforward delivery create a sense of safety. My calls were always returned and promptly. She was skillful in the procedure I had, present when I was coming out of the anesthesia, kind and caring toward my family, and supportive of me in advocating for myself.

I've been following Dr White for years. Where she goes, I go. She takes the time to understand what's going on in my life so that she can treat the whole person, not just the symptom. My daughter loves her, too.
