Barbra Scheirer, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner Barbra Scheirer is originally from Bowie, Maryland but has called Las Vegas her home for the past 12 years. Barbra began her medical career as a Paramedic for the Fire Department in Prince George’s County Maryland. This experience allowed Barbra to see mental health patients outside of a clinical setting and learn how painful a mental health crisis is to the patient and family members. Barbra continued her education and received her nursing degree, which has led to an Emergency Room career for the past 30 years. During her time in the Emergency Room, Barbra treated every aspect of psychiatry and mental health conditions. The time Barbra has spent in the Fire Department and Emergency Room, outside of an office setting, has let her have much more knowledge and hand-on experience treating Psychiatric and Mental Health conditions.In 2022 Barbra completed her Masters in Nursing from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, and became certified as a Nurse Practitioner with …a specialty in Psychiatry and Mental Health. She has worked in the Las Vegas area for the past 3 years at other Psychiatry offices, treating patients for a variety of mental health conditions. Recently, Barbra decided to open her own practice, Mighty Mental Health, to provide patients and their families with the best Psychiatric care and Medication Management in the Las Vegas/Summerlin area. She treats and manages a wide variety of mental health issues, psychiatric conditions, and substance abuse/addiction conditions. She sees children, adolescents, adults, and senior patients. With all her experience in different aspects of medicine, Barbra can treat patients who are just starting to seek a diagnosis and treatment, to caring for individuals who have seen other providers without finding success. Especially patients with ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar disorders, Postpartum issues, and all aspects of Addiction, to include MAT treatment.Barbra’s practice, Mighty Mental Health, is accepting new patients, accepts most majorinsurance carriers and has a reasonable self-pay option as well. The office is welcoming and made to feel like a home atmosphere, instead of a cold physician’s office. She ensures that every aspect of Mighty Mental Health is geared towards the best interest of the patient and all treatment plans are evidence-based and are specific to each patient’s need. Too many times, a patient finds a caring provider, only to be turned off by difficult office procedures or rude, uncaring office staff. All the staff at Mighty Mental Health have many years of experience helping psychiatric patients and go out of their way to make each contact a positive one. Appointments can either be in-person, at our amazing office, or via Tele-Health, for patients always on the go.
