He's just waiting to retire. Does not care anymore. Goes on vacation every six weeks

My dad was referred to Dr. Firstenberg for a lung mass. He had a prior history of melanoma and brought the biopsy and records to him. A biopsy of the lung mass was done. The results were inconclusive, saying it could be lung cancer but could not rule out melanoma. Rather than going in for another biopsy, he opted to start my dad on chemo drugs for lung cancer. He used older,lesser used drugs,that cause great side effects and caused my dad pain and neuropathy until the day he died of melanoma 6 months later at UT Southwestern Hospital (they did another biopsy which confirmed melanoma). He never had lung cancer. And due to a cascade of side effects and problems that occurred from the chemo FROM TREATING THE WRONG CANCER,he was never well enough to start chemo/immunotherapy for the melanoma. Be very careful before choosing this doctor.

Dr. Firstenberg has been my oncologist for 21 years through two bouts of breast cancer. He is the best that there is. I have recommended him to several people.This is someone that you can have complete confidence in.
