Dr. Jaffin was a savior when I had severe ulcerative colitis

Over a six month period, Dr. Jaffin prescribed three different medications for my abdominal pain with increasing weight loss. He did not order any tests whatsoever to ascertain the cause of my pain. I then went to another MD who ordered an CT scan. Long story short: the pain was caused by a rare but identifiable lesion in my spleen, for which I had surgery at another NYC hospital. Why Dr. J did not order tests I will never know.

This is exemplary physician service. Dr. Jaffin is very bright, explains everything, takes patient education very seriously and is thorough and very kind. So glad I was referred to him!

Dr. Jaffin has been my physician for over 15 years. Along with being an excellent diagnostician he is kind and caring and has always treated me with dignity. I have had ulcerative colitis for about 25 years and recently diagnosed with colon cancer. Dr. Jaffin referred me to a terrific surgeon we moved quickly, I had successful surgery 5 weeks ago and look forward to a complete recovery. I will always be grateful to Dr. Jaffin!.

I saw Jaffin several years ago for persistent digestive troubles. after one visit in which he barely listened to my history, he diagnosed me with a motility disorder--which just happens to be his specialty--and prescribed me medication with a long list of troubling side effects. none of this seemed right to me, so I sought a second opinion. good thing I did, because my new doctor ordered a number of appropriate tests and discovered I had severe pancreatitis, which is a potentially life-threatening issue. I cannot recommend Jaffin in any way.

I was kept waiting for a full hour and the receptionist bumped someone with an earlier appointment ahead of me. I find this really infuriating.

When I saw Dr. Jaffin last year my experience was fine, however when my husband went to him for the very first time recently, my opinion has drastically changed. My husband was having stomach troubles and has a family history of digestive diseases. Instead of addressing the issues that brought him there, he told him to go have stomach surgery to lose weight! He left the office with no orders for blood work and was told to eat protein and it would help his stomach. Really? This is a medical professional? I feel that he was completely blown off because this doctor apparently doesn't take the symptoms of overweight people seriously.
