Dr. Barry Leon Levine, MD

I have been a patient of dr.levine’s for years, mostly just out of convenience. Last year he lost his MEDICAL LICENSE for over 3 months and didn’t bother to tell any of his patients. I went to rite aid to refill a script and to my surprise they couldn’t fill it because he LOST HIS MEDICAL LICENCE. This is life sustaining medication that I was in need of. When I finally was able to see him after this whole disaster he acted like it was no big deal and he did nothing wrong. My mom was dying over a 3 month period, I had to take care of her 8 hours a day because I had no help. I had to reschedule 2 appointments (with days/weeks notice) in order to deal with appointments and hospital visits with my mom. He yelled (literally 3 weeks after my mom died) that if I reschedule another appointment he won’t see me again. At that same appointment right after she died he told me “well she was some what abusive when you were a child so it must not be that difficult”. Which wasn’t even true. Like… I have no idea where he got that from, but even if she was my mom still mattered. He is constantly looking a mess (hair sticking up, wrinkled shirts, and stains), looking like he just rolled out of bed or coming from the bar. He is a former alcoholic, but from the way he is looking anymore I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t drinking again. My family have all had similar expertiences and won’t be going back.

Dr. Levine is an excellent listener. Treatment becomes a two-way dialogue once you demonstrate the self-awareness to verbalize your feelings. Dr.L does not give up on difficult to treat patients. I know this because I am one of them. Dr. Levine is often behind schedule. He spends the appropriate amount of time with each patient. People in crisis tend not to check their watches. Dr. Levine is WELL worth "the wait". Negative reviews? I doubt they ever showed for their followups....

I suffer from ADHD AND HE WANTED TO TREAT ME WITH SEROAUIL HE WANTED TO PUT ME IN A ALL DAY SLEEP MODE RATHER THAN GIVE THE MEDS HE SHOULD GIVE, he picks and chooses very judgmental if he's gonna give you anything good . DONT WAISTE YOUR MONEY IM TELLING YOU. He also in the works of taking people who have been on adhd meds for years off of them and he didn't tell my friend that the day he did it until after she had to pay. heis going Downhill.

Dr. Levine is an excellent psychiatrist. He is kind and understanding and really knows his medications. If something isn't working he doesn't hesitate to try something new. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Levine is different from other psychiatrist whereas he takes the time to get to know the patient. I never just had an in and out visit. He explores all areas and does not immediately prescribe medications. In my opinion his expertise and personable interaction with the patient is 5 star quality treatment. Dr. Levine has even returned my calls when I had questions or struggles with medicine.

poor doctor have no idea how he got through temple university.

Dr. Levine did not make me feel very comfortable. On our second visit he was 20 minutes late without any reason. I learned that he is regularly late for his appointments. I feel he lacks professionalism.
