Dr. Barry Seymour Ostrow, MD

This doctor is very friendly and caring. I am female veteran and he was so understanding about my medical issues. I highly recommend this doctor.

Awesome doctor

I have had one session with this physician and I cannot say strongly enough how urgent it is to avoid this physician. Physician is absolutely out of it as of 2015. I don't know how his care was in the past, but at the current time STAY AWAY from this doctor at all costs. He told me to "go to some type of webpage" to find another doctor? If he is unable to treat patients adequately during this time period, then he might as well not even pick up the phone! Hopefully he will improve in the future and any patient that has been negatively affected will find the light. That's terrible he did this to the last reviewer! Shame on this doctor!

I would give him a 0 if it were possible. All he cares about is money and making as much as possible. If you are taking meds, he will micromanage you just so you have to come in and make another ridiculous payment. I lost my job and we decided to have a group meeting with my parents at the time since I was living with them and was a single mother. Based on what my parents claimed within 30 minutes (they just wanted me out of the house), despite the months of weekly sessions I spent with Dr. Ostrow, he ignored what little he allowed me to say. My parents said I was suicidal which was a lie and the easiest way to kick me out of their house. With no evidence, no previous sessions concerning suicidal thoughts, and no threats or plans of ending my life, Dr. Ostrow forced me into a Crisis Unit where I spent 2 weeks there (partially due to lack of cooperation) and it cost me $25,000 since losing my job meant losing my medical insurance. My stay at the hospital gave my parents enough… time to change the locks, get rid of my things, and leave me homeless, without transportation, helpless, and unable to see my young child. All I wanted to do was go back to work. Instead, I lost everything and it has taken me almost 2 years to be in the position of finally seeking work. If it is possible to sue this so-called psychiatrist, I will.
