Dr. Barth Bishop Riedel, MD

Dr. Riedel helped me further diagnose an injury to my wrist. I say "further diagnose" because this was a second opinion. The diagnose was in fact spot on with the first initial diagnose. In regards to Dr. Riedel himself, he made each visit as pleasant as can be. I was at ease every time, he is a positive individual and has a sense of humor. The reason why I requested a second opinion in the first place was because the first doctor was always in a hurry to get me in and out, was hard to speak to, and just didn't allow me to feel comfortable around him. Dr. Riedel did the exact opposite, on every visit! So I am pleased with the results through Dr. Riedel. All visits were taken place at S.A.C. in San Bernardino.

The moment you see him face to face and in a short while you would be at ease. As the minute ticked by, you felt the friendly warmth and he even made a joke or two. He did an excellent surgery on my right middle finger carpal tunnel. I would 100% recommend him to anyone who need orthopaedic surgery. Thank you Dr Riedel for taking care of my condition.

Dr Riedel operated on my 9 year old sons broken elbow (Radial Head). It was my sons first broken bone and First surgery. He was so scared of the entire process but Dr Riedel made all the difference. The procedure was flawless, my sons anxiety was calmed by Dr Riedels compassionate care. He would even call us after hours to check in on my son to make sure he was comfortable and recovering appropriately. Truly gifted surgeon and an even better person.

I was having pain, Dr. Riedel was able to recognize and provide a treatment plan right away. He's very easy to talk to, funny, and very professional. He cares for his patient's and listens to them.

Dr Riedel was able to fix what no other doctor was even willing to try. In 2009 I had broken my elbow in 5 places. Over past years I have had multiple surgeries to try and repair it. Each surgery was just a bandaid to the problem. Therefore always requiring another surgery. Dr. Riedel was will to take on the challenge that 4 other surgeons would not. I'm only a month out and already have more movement and less pain then I have had to endure in the past 8 years. His out going personality always brings a smile to your face. I'm an incredibly anxious patient. Since my heart attack and with diabetes, I'm burned out on doctors office visits and the "whats wrong next" feeling. Frustrated with the pain in my hands I had the Electromyography (EMG) completed and the results weren't very positive. I agreed to see an orthopedic surgeon. WHAT A GREAT FIRST VISIT! Dr. Riedel's energy and positiveness is infectious and calming. Ever meet someone so confident, skilled, human and personable? I did! I'm ready for the surgeries.

Completely successful bilateral endoscopic carpel tunnel release. Dr Riedel is very easy to talk to, and happily answers all your questions. I'm an RN, two weeks out from my surgery and I have full use of my hands, have very minimal surgical site pain, and zero carpel tunnel symptoms! My career as a NICU nurse and PICC Nurse depended on this surgery, and Dr Riedel did an amazing job! I go back to work in a week!!!

I had surgery for a really serious finger injury while I was working as a stunt coordinator. I crushed it in some special effects equipment!! I wasted a lot of time going to a lot of doctors who couldn't even begin to figure out how to help me. One said I needed an amputation, 2 other doctors said that it's arthritis, another said that it's simple gout, etc. etc. Every one of the so called doctors had some ridiculous idea about how to treat my injury and ALL of them offered my some serious pain meds that I'd never take anyway. I gave up on doctors and was so discouraged that I just got used to living with the awful injury and horrible pain for at least a year and a half. I prayed for God to help me find a doctor that knew what he or she was doing. Our production company was shooting a feature out in the Inland Empire area and I got to talking with a cameraman who highly recommended going to the Loma Linda University Medical Center. I live in Hollywood and knew it would be a commute and… commitment to all the pre-op and post-op appointments, but I stepped out in faith anyway and IT WAS WORTH IT!!!! Doctor Riedel was the only doctor between here(Hollywood) and Loma Linda that made sense!! At my first appointment, his consultation was a breeze and he got right to the problem and surgery was scheduled rather quickly. He explained the whole procedure and answered my many questions prior to the surgery. I was amazed at the decision he made for my particular injury which was to fuze the joints in my severely injured finger! I'm now pain free and my fuzed finger is strong. I'm able to handle stunt equipment without a problem and have adapted to the way I use my hand. Thank God for a brilliant surgeon who knew exactly what to do for my situation. I've already recommended Doctor Riedel to some others who were looking for a GREAT hand surgeon and I recommend him to any of you!! Thanks Doctor Riedel!!!
