Dr. Bassam Ali Bassam, MD

I took my elderly mother to see this doctor today. His greeting to my mother was I have no idea why your rheumatologist referred you. He was extremely rude and cut her off and did not listen. I am sure this man must knowledgeable within his field to have this many negative reviews and still be working at this hospital, but I would rather travel somewhere else and see a doctor that knew how to speak to their patients than see this man again. If you are looking for a doctor that listens and treats you with respect he is not who I would recommend.

Physician very rude, I have been taking care of my husband for the past 3 years and have been a Registered Nurse for 42 years. He has been diagnosed with CIDP by 5 different neurologists including Mayo Clinic Dept of Neurology. Dr Bassam refused to let me speak, he insisted my husband give all the responses about medical history surgeries and what symptoms he had before being diagnosed. My husband has severe anxiety and memory problems and was unable to answer fast enough. he was cut off several times and Dr kept going on to next subject before my husband could answer. (He was trying to go through all of the medical records we took with us for dates) Dr Bassam decided that my husband did not have CIDP but peripheral neuropathy from uncontrolled diabetes.His AIC's have ranged from 6.0 to 6.7 over the last 2 years. Mayo clinic did EMG's and Nerve conduction studies last year agreeing with the diagnosis of CIDP. Dr Bassam wants us to come back for more EMG's. We left office totally… disgusted with the total disregard of what we have lived with for the past 3 &1/2 years, they did not read any of the numerous pages of paperwork we had to fill out for them. We will never return to this Dr. His just as rude medical assistant gave us the order for appt for EMG's and my husband handed it back to her. She did not question him or show any caring about the reason he gave it back. I have never seen any patient treated so rudely especially by a Dr that specializes in neurological diseases and knows of the memory issues and sometime confusion and disorientation of patients.

Highly recommend. Thorough, professional and compassionate.

I had been to another doctor who tried to blow me off but he did me a huge favor when he sent me to Dr Bassam!

Very impressive. He is very knowledgible, professional and considerate. Listens well, made accurate diagnosis and successful remedy. Diligent follow-up. Highly recommend to others, with confidence and trust. Would definately see again.
