Dr. Bassem Adeeb Georgy, MD

I was concerned about multiple steroid shots needed but y pinch nerve was very painful from my neck to left shoulder,however.one spinal shot by Dr Bassem Georgy did the trick. I don't lift heavy items anymore so that one shot is still doing well! I felt relief before leaving Dr Georgy's office....amazing relief!

Excellent caring doctor

Dr. Georgy was a physician advisory on a Blue Shied review and denied my procedure. He must of never read the report. After three doctors and two radiology doctors said I needed it he though he knew better. It took me two months of pain to get this guy report appealed.

When I signed in there were 2 appointments books for the same time with the same doctor, this should have been my first clue. Dr. Georgy did not explain anything that was going on during my spinal injection. The exam table was not covered properly for sanitation purposes. There was NO follow up to see how I was after the injection, including no paper work to review regarding what symptoms to look for after my appointment. The nurse simply wrote the name of the medication on a post-it note. I had a severe adverse reaction to the injection. I called the office multiple times for days, but Dr. Georgy never called me back. This is simply unacceptable and very unprofessional. Stay away.

Office made numerous false statements throughout the surgery process. Doctor cancelled surgery that was scheduled for a month 4 days prior due to his scheduling conflict despite knowing the procedure was needed for over 2 months.

Terrible doctor, seems he is interested in making the buck first rather than prioritizing patient care. DO NOT USE this guy.

I agree with what everyone else said. His nurse is very kind and the woman who runs the front desk is also very kind. I suppose they had to hire nice staff to make up for the doctor's rude bedside manner. He never said a word the minute he spent with me. The nurse told me what he was doing and how it would feel. Then he walked out and never said a word. I was face down on the table so I don't think I could even tell you what he looked like. On a second visit I tried to ask him questions and he seemed very annoyed. I am not going back again.

Dr. Georgy obviously has excellent knowledge and skill in interventional pain management. However, his manner is brusque almost to the point of seeming cold and unfriendly, but I choose to ignore his personal shortcomings and appreciate his skill as a doctor. His P.A. is very personable and takes time to explain and listen, his nurse is very kind, compassionate and friendly, and his office staff are also very pleasant.

This is the second time in two years that I endured major pain in my lower back and recently in my cervical area due to degenerative disk disease. The office rushed to fit me in for diagnosis and treatment. Both times, required a series of epidural injections. Dr. Georgy administered these quickly and with minimal discomfort. The treatment reduced the pain immediately and I received a follow up call the next day. I would recommend him for all different kinds of pain treatment.

I saw doctor Georgy for 1 1/2 years for several series of cortisteroid injections. After 1 1/2 years I asked the receptionist (who is very nice) several times for him to call me to discuss my prognosis and never heard from him. I felt this was unacceptable. There are many other doctors in San Diego so I recommend anyone reading this to choose someone other than Dr. Georgy if you want a doctor who will discuss your treatment plan from start to finish.
