After consulting with Dr. Clapp, I knew he was the man for the job. For most of my life I've struggled with weight loss as I'm sure many others have and also struggled to find a solution. I've tried keto diets, programs & supplemented this with exercise, but it wasn't working. I've been to multiple doctors who seemed stumped. First Dr. Clapp is a professional, if I have any issue after surgery he will call me personally to talk about it. Begging with him , following all his staff from the office and the clinic and hospital. Wao in the hospital they make you feel so comfortable,you want to go and take a shower, they provided you towels, clothes, soap. The nurse and tech have a phone that you called them di rectly so they come right away. If the Dr.tells you is going to be by 9 am there he is sharp. ..Love all the staff and Dr. Clapp. Recommended him always.

This Dr Clapp took over for Dr Applebaum . I was a lap band patient of Dr. Applebaum. I was sick was told by other Dr's that I had to see Dr. Clapp didn't really want to since I know some of his patients he has done surgery on and they were sorry they had him as a Dr. Buttttt since I was Applebaums patient I had to see him. It turns out I had a hernia and he said to fix the hernia he would have to remove the lap band I said ok. Now when he sent the report to my ins. he never mentioned the hernia and of course they wouldn't just remove a lap band with him saying I wanted it just removed. Hello I never said that. I called my ins. and they said he never mentioned the hernia. If he had mentioned it in his report that this was the reason why he wanted to remove the lap band I would of been approved. Just have the Dr. resubmit or appeal .When I called to make an appointment to see him to talk about it his medical asst. Maggie told me he said he WOULD NOT RESUBMIT OR APPEAL he didn't want… to see me. If I wanted the hernia fixed and lap band that he said I should pay out of my own pocket. Hello that is why I pay ins. He did want me to get a gastro by pass or sleeve I told him maybe in 6 months or so but at this time I want the hernia fixed,and to deal with this first. I do feel he refused me treatment because he wants to make more money with doing a gastro or sleeve on me.The thing is other Bariactric Dr's won't see me cause they say I am his patient and it is his duty as a Dr. to treat me. But he abandoned me as a patient,and a person too. I would never trust him . He has no heart and I will go out of town to another Dr. before I would let Dr. Clapp touch me. It is sad that these other Bariactric Dr's won't see you cause you saw this Dr. Clapp only twice. I loved Dr. Applebaum he was and is a great Dr. and caring. He cared about his patients. I am sorry he left his patients to this self absorbed,rude,money hungry Dr. Clapp that doesn't care about his patients ,only money. Don't go to Dr. Clapp find another Bariactric Dr. FIRST ! .Run away as far as you can from him ! Trust me if he becomes your Dr. you will be sorry down the line.

El Paso is extremely blessed to have such a skilled surgeon in town. I had RNY gastric bypass and I have not had any complications at almost a year out!!!
