Dr. Benjamin Richard Mayer, DO

It's been a while since I saw Dr. Mayer. I found him to be very attentive and very competent. He was very eager to explain everything regarding my treatment.

I switched to Dr. Mayer as my Primary Care Physician almost five years ago and I couldn't be more glad that I found him. My experience is that Dr. Mayer is a caring, compassionate, and attentive Doctor. Rather than just hearing what people say, he takes the time to truly listen. Dr. Mayer is patient, pragmatic, and brings a sense of peace to the situation. He's logical and methodical, taking a stepwise approach to helping the patient, by starting with things that are the safest, easiest, and most effective, as appropriate for the patient and their situation. In my experience, Dr. Mayer looks to ensure diet and lifestyle factors are addressed first, before going any further. I appreciate his perspective of making sure the basics are covered, before looking at more aggressive treatments. For example: If I had a nail in my foot, taking a pain reliever would surely help. But, it wouldn't help as much as first removing the nail. It's refreshing and encouraging to see a Physician… taking such a holistic approach to care. If more Physicians practiced in such a manner -- reminding patients they are not to be passive observers -- then, I believe there would be more "health" in healthcare. I highly recommend Dr. Mayer and give him five stars...but, only because six stars aren't an option.

Dr. Mayer has a way of relating to his patients with much care, understanding and patience. He brings Peace into the room as he enters. When I go visit my doctor I feel like I’m visiting a close friend. Thank you Dr Mayer!
