Dr. Benjamin Louis Oshlag

Benjamin L. Oshlag, MD is a primary care sports medicine physician specializing in the non-operative treatment of bone, joint, and muscular injuries in pediatric and adult patients. His practice focuses on athletic injuries, tendinopathy and overuse injuries, fractures, and concussion management. Dr. Oshlag is also trained in emergency medicine and practices as an emergency room physician at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.After completing undergraduate and masters level graduate education in computer science at Tufts University, Dr. Oshlag received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, and went on to complete a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Duke University.Dr. Oshlag's academic interests include research into diagnostic and procedural ultrasound, and orthobiologic treatments such as platelet rich plasma (PRP) …injections. As a faculty member of Columbia University Medical Center, he is actively involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. In addition, Dr. Oshlag is an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, serving on their education committee, case submission review board, and emergency medicine interest group. He also serves on the sports medicine interest committee for the American College of Emergency Physicians.A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Oshlag stays active as a soccer player and competitive endurance athlete who has completed multiple triathlons and endurance races.
