Dr. Benjamin Clark Pease, MD

I saw Dr. Pease because my primary care referred me for polyps in my sinuses. He recommended endoscopic surgery to remove. My doctor portion of the bill was over $38000 for surgery that didn’t take an hour PLUS an additional $36000 for Manhattan Surgery Hospital.

Dr. Pease took the time to do a thorough examination of my issue and provided several options for treatment. He asked me questions, listened to the answers, and allowed me to determine the course of treatment. He was prompt, on time, and very professional. His office staff was very nice and efficient and I would very highly recommend his office for any ENT issues.

Dr. Pease was rude and condescending. I'm in the healthcare field, and he knew this, yet accused me of googling my symptoms. He blew me off and said he was going to refer me out to someone in KC, but then when his nurse called she said everything was normal. I wouldn't have gone if something wasn't wrong! Also it took me THREE months to get an appointment because the staff "lost" my referral. Then they claimed it was in my patient record. How can something be lost if it is where it is supposed to be? Absolutely disappointing!

Honest, direct. Gives options and helps a patient calculate a direction, sometimes to the point of confusing. However, as a patient, you understand your options. He's less the type to sell you on his services, which to some degree is a fault, but he's a person who will do his best to meet your needs. He doesn't pretend to know it all and he's honest to the point it might be a tad offensive, but I like the tough doctors who are committed to serving the patient and not themselves ... and the bonus here is that he isn't what you might expect at face value. I felt at ease with him (he might disagree) from the minute he walked into the room. He's confident but not overly so. He's greatly underrated.

sometimes at the office, the wait seems unusally long, in reality, it generally is 10 minutes, which really is good.I feel he spends enough time with me when I have questions. Short and brief but precise.

I got disappointed after several visits to Dr. Pease office. First of all, he does not seem to care, and prefers to make multiple appointments to diagnose a simple problem. After your second visit you really start to get the impression that his main goal is to extract as much money from you and your insurance as possible. This is really bad. He is the only one, however, currently available in Manhattan area. Too bad..
