Dr. Benjamin Michael Shapiro, MD

Dr. Shapiro listens patiently, gives his assessment on different meds for the patient to consider, considers patient's reactions to meds and helps to make adjustment. He doesn't hurry to make you feel "it's time to leave", gives patient enough space to express. After seeing him for 18 months, I was released back to my primary doctor. Dr. Shapiro didn't "cure" me, but was very instrumental in my recovery. Big thanks.

I tried to get an appointment with Dr. Shapiro when I was in real need. They made me jump through hoops. I decided it wasn't worth it. Any psychiatrist that doesn't care when someone reaches out in need can't be any good.

Dr. Shapiro was a great doctor. Told me I was previously nos-diagnosed and over medicated, weeks later under his care I was on the right medications and practicing an appropriate therapy. Very laid back and calm. Easy to talk to, great listener. Great insight.

He's a genuinely caring, knowledgeable psychiatrist who is very supportive.

Poor interpersonal skills, acts uncomfortable and unsure of himself while interacting with patients. Not a bad person but definitely a terrible psychiatrist. Seems impatient, rushed and uncaring.

A below-average to poor physician. He has a terrible bedside manner and doesn't seem to care about his patients or enjoy his job.
