Dr. Benjamin Lightfoot Smith, MD

Dr. Smith has been my son's doctor going 5 years. He is a great doctor. Quiet, soft-spoken & very humble. Has been right on the mark with my child's severe asthma. I am very glad we found him, and his Referrals have been terrific. Alamo Heights is VERY lucky to have Dr. Smith.

My son has been going to Dr. Smith since we moved here from Chicago about 2 years ago. As a first time mother the importance of a good doctor that would listen, understand, and give good aid to my only child was such a priority to me. After numerous doctor visits and different locations trying to find a good one that could allow me to feel at ease with my child's care, a family friend referred me to Dr. Smith and he is the reason my son has remained as healthy as he is now. His office is Clean and staff is very friendly, the wait time is barely 10 minutes and he actually spends time with you and addresses all your concerns. My son's life and health are my priority and it feels great to know I have Dr. Smith as his primary care provider!

We love Dr. Smith! He has seen my daughter since she was born, and we have been extremely impressed with how personable and attentive he is with our daughter. We never feel rushed when we have an appointment. When we call the office with questions, our questions are immediately returned within the day. Dr. Smith knows his research and he is very credible. Being a father and husband himself, he is able to relate to many situations, (we as parents), are going through. With this being our first child, we are extremely thankful to have the best pediatrician!

Dr. Smith has been caring for my daughter since the day she was born. He is always kind and patient and takes time to really listen to us about our concerns. He has gone above and beyond in caring for and advising my husband and I as new parents as well as caring for the health of our child. As the parent of young children himself, his advice is not only medical and clinical, but also very personal. We are very happy with Dr. Smith and would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Smith has been our pediatrician for the past four years. He has always provided our family with honest and professional care, even sharing his own firsthand experience with his children. We originally had another pediatrician when my oldest child was born, but luckily Dr. Smith filled in when that doctor was unavailable and after that, he was the only doctor we wanted our children to see. He exhibits integrity, respect for parents, and sincerely cares about his patients. He listens to parent's concerns, and thoroughly explains his diagnosis. Through his consistent high quality of care he has earned my family's trust and I highly recommend him.

First thing that happen when I brought my newborn was they weighed her and they didn't take her clothes off. It was very important that we know exactly how much she weighed because we were having trouble with her eating. Also, he is very young and doesn't seem very sure of himself. I didn't feel confident with anything he was saying and that is very important. He said a couple of condescending remarks. After my visit I asked a close family member to ask her friends at the hospital she works at if they have ever heard of him, the two that had said they did not like him at all. Every review I have seen online of Dr. Smith was really good which leads me to believe her wrote them himself!

I found Dr. Smith to be the BEST doctor I have ever had for my son. His bedside manner is beyond belief. Dr. Smith's professionalism and courtesy was both compassionate and understanding. I consider us to be VERY lucky to have found Dr. Smith. None of this waiting one to two hours to see him, then it's only a 10 minute visit. Dr. Smith takes all the time needed to solve the problem and assure you, that it WILL be taken care of. His nurse, Carol, is simply wonderful!!

The Office was very clean, neat and up to date. The staff friendly and understanding.Dr. Smith won my sons confidence and the appointment went very smoothly.

Dr Smith and his staff were wonderful with my two boys. His well visit exam on my older son was the most thorough exam my son has had in 5 years. And my younger son's sick visit was done with care and consideration for my son's well being.I would definitely recommend him to any family looking for a pediatrician!
