Dr. Benjamin David Sturdy, OD

Benjamin Sturdy, OD, oversees the recruitment, as well as advanced didactic and clinical training of recent optometric graduates that choose an optional optometric residency to further their education and training at ICON Eyecare. He is committed to the highest quality patient care using cutting-edge technology.Dr. Sturdy earned his bachelor’s degree with a major in Human Biology and a double minor in chemistry and music from the University of Kansas. After graduating with distinction from Southern College of Optometry in 2009 and completing his ocular disease residency at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta in 2010, Dr. Sturdy began his career at ICON Eyecare. He was one of the first optometrists in the country to become board certified, a demanding process requiring clinical knowledge and expertise, with a commitment to life-long learning.Following an 18-month sabbatical to support his wife while she completed her education to become a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist, Dr. Sturdy …returned to ICON Eyecare. He specializes in comprehensive eye care, surgical co-management, ocular disease, and dry eye treatment.Dr. Sturdy grew up in Hays, Kansas, and currently resides in Denver with his wife and four children.
