Dr. Bennett Joseph Berkowitz, MD

ive been going to him for 15 yrs + and recommend everyone to him and they luv him as well. hes such a very nice, polite man. staff is awesome .hes very informative of everything..he remembers everything about me. i very highly recommend him

I do not recommend Dr. Bennet Berkowitz at all. I waited over 45min for my appt with no acknowledgement from the very rude receptionist after initial check in. The Dr &receptionist got into an argument in the hallway right before my appt because she told his nurse she could go home early. I was a new patient and he was rude and uncaring about my medical history, basically disagreeing with everything the specialist I had worked with in another state had recommended. When I went into the exam room it was dirty and they had an open 5 gallon bucket on the floor full of dirty/used exam gloves. (I should have followed my instincts and left at that point)He had a smirk on his face during the exam and because the nurse had left, the receptionist was the female in the room with me! They both started to laugh as soon as they left the room which was extremely unprofessional. I never received my test results and every time I call the office during work hrs, they have their closed message on.

I read all the reviews. Dr. Berkowitz is a little reserved- I think he is shy quite honestly-, however, after being told by another GYN that I had stage 2 cancer and would need a radical hysterectomy (which turned out not to be true), I now understand why a doctor would rather say nothing when unsure. His staff is great. The office is not fancy, which put me off a little at first, but his staff is so nice, and everyone is really down to earth, that I now feel like it is really comfortable place to be. Dr. Berkowitz does always return calls, even after office hours, and never declines to speak to you personally. I did not find his exam to be rough or heavy handed, although I have not been to that many GYNs. Bottom line, I would recommend him.

Had a problem with this doc from the getgo...Extremely poor communication skills, appears to be afraid to cast his opinion. He has done multiple procedures at which I still have problem. His exams are rough compared to my new doc...his equipment seems old and antiquated. If you like this guy, you're probably not talking with him much.

Dr Berkowitz has been kind, straight-forward and always professional as my gyn. I highly recommend him as a provider if you're looking for a new gyn. Also his staff is always friendly, which is hard to find!!
