Dr. Marie C. Anderson, MD

Dr. Marie Anderson is an obstetrician-gynecologist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Dr. Anderson provides comprehensive obstetric, gynecologic, and preventative women’s health care throughout the lifespan. She strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where patients feel heard and empowered to make decisions about their care, developing individualized care plans that reflect patients’ values, goals, and unique circumstances while remaining grounded in the best available medical evidence.
Her research interests include health policy and reproductive rights. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Anderson serves as Associate Clerkship Director for Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia Vagelos College of …Physicians and Surgeons, where she is actively involved in medical student education and mentorship.
Dr. Anderson has received multiple teaching awards, including the Sloane Hospital for Women Excellence in Teaching Award and the Richard U. Levine Generalist Award, which recognizes the graduating resident who best exemplifies dedication, advocacy, leadership, mentorship, and teamwork.
