Dr. Benny Michael Popwell, MD

Dr Popwell may have some rewards and knows what he's talking about,but as with time has gone by.He has gotten callous. I went for appointment with my granddaughter and his bedside manner and Pap smear was brusque and very painful for her. We're talking a very serious diagnosis, which he treated callosly and rushed. He has done this many times before, but to us it is new. He is insensitve and callous. It is time for him to retire.

My daughter called for help and nurse was rude and arrogant and no help.

Dr. Popwell seems like a nice person, but I will not be continuing my care there, nor do I recommend. I waited for over 2 hours, and only saw the doctor for a few minutes. My pap with him was easily the most painful of my experience due to his hurried, brusque manner, and I had to keep sticking up for myself to prevent unnecessary medical intervention.

I have been seeing dr popwell for about 5 years, once a year for my "check up" and a few other times in between if a problem arose. I ,so far, have always liked him and I love his nurse( she is really sweet). I feel very comfortable around him and he always answers my list of questions. I recommend him. Also he sees you when your appointment actually is ! No waiting crazy amounts of time in the waiting room. I give him 2 thumbs up! :)

This doctor is the head & shoulder above others! there are a few who are close but I me & my wifes experince with him was 5 stars, he was prompt, took time to explain & aswers all questions in easy to understand lay terms. He is as good as they come!!

I used Dr. Popwell when I was pregnant with my daughter. Overall my experience was great. He took the time to explain what a hematoma was, and the locations of them. He explained to me the importance of taking it easy due to the location of one. He and his nurse seemed to really care about me, especially when I had morning sickness and food posion. They BOTH took the time to explain what all I had to do to feel better and gain the weight back. My husband and I liked the fact that Dr. Popwell was straight forward and told us what we needed to know and nothing more. My only issue was that my daughter was estimated to be smaller than she really was, and it wasn't caught on ultrasound that the cord was around her, which during delivery caused some problems. I applaud the highland staff (one of which fractured her wrist inorder to get me to the OR room for my emergency c-section) and Dr. Popwell for acting with haste and knowledge.

Would not recommend him. I had a very bad experience with him.

I would not recomend Dr. popwell, yes he does know what he is talking about but, he seems very rushed, He likes to get you in and out, asking questions is uncomfortable becuase he gives you short and sweet answer. Does not explain things. He is the doctor who delivered me when i was born so i thought i would go to him to deliver my baby...well that was a mistake. He made me feel as if he doesnt care about his patient. He is very experinced but not much of a people person. He doesnt seem to be very thorough he missed a lot of things in my pregnancy. I feel like if he would have taken his time and payed more attiention and been a little more thorough, my son would be here right now.

Let me start by saying I am a physician myself and am selective about my providers. Dr. Popwell has excellent clinical skills and a lot of experience. He is easy to get an appointment with, and the technology in his office is state of the art. He is thorough in lab testing. The staff are very helpful and talkative.
