Dr. Bernadette M Lange, MD

This doctor diagnosed my son with Cerebral Palsy over 20 years ago. I've tried to forget our experience with her ever since. I found her name in my son's Baby Book today and was hoping to find that she had grown and changed. I guess not. The previous reviewer that called her "Terse" was being polite. I remember what she said to me the day she sent a wheelchair salesman into our room unannounced: Your son is severely and profoundly disabled. If he is not sitting up by the time he is 2, he will never sit without support and he will never walk. As soon as you accept that, you'll be a much happier person. Unfortunately, she was correct in her diagnosis. He is 24 years old and has never spoken a word, sat without support, or taken a step. Being "right" does not mean she is a good doctor. I think she would have made a fine medical research doctor, but she does not have the skills to deal with children and their concerned parents.

She was very condescending. She recommends treatment based on protocols. It was obvious that she doesn't treat patients as individuals or converse well with children. If I can't request another provider at this location I'll have to go somewhere else.

I do not recommend this doctor. She was very terse and seemed to be irritated with any information that I provided. I could tell she was interested in very "cookie cutter" medicine and not everyone falls into that mold.
