Dr. Bernard Gburek, MD

Dr Gburek has a warm smile and is kind compassionate and understanding. You may have to wait awhile to get in to see him because he is very popular, but I can guarantee you that he is worth the wait. One of the few remaining physicians who will soend time with you and do what is best for your health and not his billfold. He is a superb physician!

Said I had bladder cancer. Had a procedure to remove a tumor and did not have one. A great deal of stress and pain for nothing and no apology.

I like Dr Gburek a lot. Long wait to get into see him, but some physicians are worth waiting for. I had prostate surgery, and it went very well; Dr Gburek even saw me on the weekends . I don’t like the office staff as much, but Dr Gburek is a uniquely good physician, compassionate, caring, and competent,m. You won’t be disappointed. He will do what is best for you, and not his wallet.

I was there about 12 or 13 years ago. Another reviewer said the same thing I experienced. The most unbelievably painful scope (uroscopy I think). They said"some minor discomfort", but extreme pain with discharge and bleeding for two months after. I went in for a follow-up because I was worried and he said the only way to tell if there is a problem is to do another scoping procedure, which there is no way I was willing to do. He's a monster.

Having been a 6 year (past tense) patient of Dr. Gburek, his office headed by his medical assistant Sarah leaves a great deal to be desired. I had a procedure done by Dr. Gburek and the procedure went as planned. The post procedure was a disaster. I was still having some issues with the results of the procedure and had called the office, asking for Sarah who apparently runs the office, to call me back. Still no call no call back 6 days later. I called the office again. Still no return call or follow up on my procedure by Dr. Gburek or any of his staff. I was having some issues that were causing me concern. Never spoke with Dr. Gburek or his office after two weeks of calling. Gave up in frustration. Found another Urologist who did listen to and deal with my issues. After prescribing some treatment and making suggestions, was able to resolve my issues. What a relief to work with an office that is not totally inept!!

Well I have been seeing Dr Gburek for two years. Seems like I have to wait for this doctor which I don't like. But I tried another urologist in Scottsdale and also Had to wait for him. And he didn't care about my problem the way Dr Gburek did. So now I returned and always see Dr Gburek. . And at this point I have realized that he is worth the wait. He is honest articulate listens well and offers me the best advice for my body not his pocketbook. I appreciate this.

I love Dr Gburek! He took excellent care of my kidney stone. Even did surgery on a weekend to remove the stone. Follow up in his office was seamless. And then more recently he helped my wife through a bladder cancer. He is a good communicator. Good listener. Very patient and kind. Highly recommend this urologist!

Excellent "bedside manner." Accurate diagnosis, surgery, recovery estimates. Your "go to" doctor for urology services.

If you want just a physicians assistant go to Dr Gburek. If you want a doctor go elsewhere. This Dr will not communicate with the patient even after specific requests to speak with him to discuss actual surgery vs. with the physicians assistant Lynn DeMasters. I never, in my 3 weeks of dealing with this group got to see, talk, discuss or communicate with the Dr. When I called and requested for him to contact me he had the office assistant call me instead, and never followed up from that call. Never, under any circumstances, leave a voice mail for the physicians assistant Lynn Demasters and expect a return call. And when you do finally get in touch with her by you making another call be prepared to be treated as a nuisance and trouble maker instead of a patient, and one that is taking up her precious time, and one that really doesn't need to know the type of surgery you are about to receive. My first ever rating of a doctor, but after my experience there it is important for others to… have information and make an informed decision. My recommendation is skip them and head to a real doctors office.
