Dr. Bernard Scott

Dr. Bernard Scott is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)with more than 20 years of experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, and families. He specializes in treating depression, anxiety, anger management, attention deficit, compulsive gambling, domestic violence, LGBTQIA+ issues, grief, OCD, schizophrenia, and more. His approach to therapy involves partnering with each client and understanding their unique perspective. Dr. Scott then considers a variety of theoretical applications including interpersonal, cognitive behavioral (CBT), solutions-focused methods (SFT), rational emotive approaches (RET), brief short-term methods, and psychodynamic techniques to best support the goals of each client. Dr. Scott believes that mental health practitioners need to focus on supporting homeostasis within their clients by using a wide variety of supplemental treatments. These may include referrals to acupuncture, massage therapy, meditation, …yoga, psychopharmacology, etc.Dr. Scott helps clients become aware of their own strengths and positive coping skills. He also works to share new and healthier approaches to conflict and stress.
